- According to ntldstats.com, the number of new gTLD’s domain registrations grew by 1.1 million domains, in just the last 5 days.
In terms of percentage of increase, the 1.1 million increase in new gTLD domain names, is close to a 9% increase in just 5 days.
On February 13th, there were a total of 12,675,000 new gTLD domain names registered.

GoDaddy roughly essential in Q4
- GoDaddy almost turns a GAAP profit in Q4.
Domain name and web hosting company GoDaddy (NYSE:GDDY) reported earnings after the bell today.
GoDaddy had a net loss of $(0.5) million and an adjusted EBITDA of $73.5 million. Total bookings hit $464.0 million and unlevered free cash flow came in at $52.3 million. (The latter two measures are important for a subscription-based business like GoDaddy’s.)
The company reported $425.4 million revenue in Q4, up 14.4% year-over-year and 3.5% over the Q3.

Rightside (NASDAQ:NAME) today reported record quarterly revenue for Q4 of $55.7 million, and full year revenue of $212.5 million.

According to ntldstats.com .XYZ was sitting at 1,967,963 domain registrations as of the last zone update, however there has been a huge surge in 6 number .XYZ domain names from China (NNNNNN.xyz) (also known as 6N domains) of over 100,000 domain registrations.

CENTR Reports There Are 311.5 Million Domains In The World
According to a new report out today (PDF) by CENTR, which is the European country code TLD organisation, as of December 31, there are 311.5 million domain names in the world.
158.7 million domain names are Legacy TLD’s including .com, .net and .org; 140.1 million are ccTLD’s (country codes), 1.6 Million are IDN ccTLD’s, and 10.9 Million are New gTLD’s.

- According to ntldstats.com, AlpNames has just overtaken GoDaddy in terms of the number of new gTLD domain names under management.
According to ntldstats.com AlpNames.com has 1,016,800 new gTLD’s under management while Godaddy has new gTLD’s 1,005,071.
Alpnames was founded in 2013 in order to provide registrar services under the new gTLD program.
AlpNames has a 8.81% of the new gTLD market domain registrar market, while Godaddy has 8.87 of the new gTLD market.
