Domain Registration on Record Pace? Over 750K Added Yesterday Alone - Registrations of domain names seem to be going on at a record pace. Yesterday saw the number of domain registrations across all Top Level Domain (TLD) names have a net add of over 750,000 domains according to registrarstats.com “Net Add” mean its the amount of domains registered less the number of domain names deleted. CENTR Reports There Are 311.5 Million Domains In The World - According to a new report out today (PDF) by CENTR, which is the European country code TLD organisation, as of December 31, there are 311.5 million domain names in the world. 158.7 million domain names are Legacy TLD’s including .com, .net and .org; 140.1 million are ccTLD’s (country codes), 1.6 Million are IDN ccTLD’s, and 10.9 Million are New gTLD’s. .XYZ Registry Reports Nearly All 5 Number Domains Sold Out - Daniel Negari, CEO of the .xyz registry has reported to TheDomains.com that there are less than 10,000 five number .xyz domain name combinations left before they are all registered! CSC's Nov New gTLD Report: New gTLD Sites in Alexa Top 1M Up 25% In a Month - Brand protection and domain name registrar, CSC (Corporation Service Company) has issued its “New gTLD Utilization Report” for November. According to CSC the number of active” .brands new gTLD’s (those with five or more registrations) increased from October when there were 53 .brand new gTLD’s with five or more registrations to 75 in November, representing a 42% increase. Famous Four Media Becomes 3rd New gTLD Registry To Pass 1 Million Domains - According to a Press Release out today, Famous Four Media has become the 3rd new gTLD registry to pass one million domain names.
