Domain Registration on Record Pace? Over 750K Added Yesterday Alone - Registrations of domain names seem to be going on at a record pace. Yesterday saw the number of domain registrations across all Top Level Domain (TLD) names have a net add of over 750,000 domains according to registrarstats.com “Net Add” mean its the amount of domains registered less the number of domain names deleted. Famous Four Media Becomes 3rd New gTLD Registry To Pass 1 Million Domains - According to a Press Release out today, Famous Four Media has become the 3rd new gTLD registry to pass one million domain names. Donuts was the first to hit 1,000,000 domain registrations but they  offer well over  100 new domain extensions for sale. .XYZ was the second registry to hit 1,000,000 domain names but they did that only on 1 new domain extension .XYZ. What Do You Get From 10K Free Domains? Some Great; Some Horrible; Lots of TM Infringing - As we wrote yesterday a domain registrar AlpNames.com was offering free .Party domains for registration, so we went in to get a sample of the 10,000+ domains that were registered under the new gTLD yesterday. Not surprisingly I found some horrible registrations, a lot of trademark infringing registrations and some domain I wish I would have registered. Alpnames.com Offering Free .Party New gTLD Domain Name Registrations - Alpnames.com the registrar who offered free and then $.49 domain names for .Science which just broke the 250,000 domain registration mark, announced today that is was now offering free .Party domains. Donuts Beats Google, Amazon, Dish Network, Radix, Famous Four To .Movie New gTLD - Donuts has won the rights to operate the new gTLD .Movie beating out 7 other applicants including publicly traded Google, Amazon, and  Dish Network. .Movie was the last new gTLD scheduled to go to the ICANN last resort auction in January and was apparently settled by private auction.
