All new gTLD registry operators will be required to regularly deposit a backup copy of their TLD registration data through one of the approved data escrow service providers. 68th New gTLD Application Is Withdrawn - The 68th new gTLD application has been withdrawn today. The new gTLD application was for an  IDN: 广东 Which was applied for by the Xinhua News Agency and had a prioritization number of 1,772 The English equivalent for the IDN string is: Guangdong The applicant has one other new gTLD application submitted with ICANN which is the IDN of 新闻, which is the English equivalent of the word: News.  That application has a prioritization number of 29 and has already passed ICANN initial evaluation. UDRP Filed On NJturnpike.com & GardenStateParkway.com, Registered in 1998 - A UDRP has just been filed on the matching domain names of the two major highways in New Jersey. The UDRP was filed on the domain names NJturnpike.com GardenStateParkway.com both which are registered by a  David P Matteo who lives in New Jersey. The domain name were both registered on the same day back on July 31, 1998. Mr. Matteo according to DomainTools.com has owned the domain since at least 2001 but could be the original registrant. .XXX Sells Over 12,000 Domain Names During May Promotion - xBiz.com is reporting the ICM registry the company that operates the .XXX extension has sold over 12,000 domain names during its May promotion where domain registrations went for a low as $8.99.
