Who Will Apply for .SCOUT in Round 2 -
I was pretty much suprised not to see any application for .SCOUT in round 1 of the ICANN new gTLD program. There were two applications for .GUIDE but a guide is a guide and a scout...is a scout.
I remember going to meetings and introducing the potential of .SCOUT. Basically, what is say on my personal website: "I look forward to organize a team around one major Community project for round 2:

There are many blogs about new gTLDs. Some are interesting, others are not. Some are about domaining in which new gTLDs are included, some are from Law Firms and rather repetitive about the necessity to protect a brand in the Trademark Clearinghouse and how URS is the best (billable) mechanism to protect the brand; some are truly about domain names and remain must-read; very few are about new gTLDs only.

Autos.de Sells For $166,000 - The domain name Autos.de just crossed the Sedo sales wiring selling for for 120,000 Euro’s or around $166,000 based on today’s exchange rates.
The buyer of the domain appears to be DAY Investments GmbH out of Austria whose website is at Day.eu
The previous owner of the domain was one4vision GmbH which acquired the domain in 2007.
Congrats to the buyer and seller.

Trademark Claims end, Claims Plus begins.
One of the Rights Protections measures in place for new top level domain names is the Trademark Claims service.
For 90 days after a new TLD enters general availability, registrars must show a notice if a second level domain name registration matches a mark in the Trademark Clearinghouse.

GoDaddy and Afternic combined to sell about $1.8 million worth of domain names last week.
Before jumping into the regular end user sales list, I want to point out a couple premium .co.com sales. SurfMyAds.com, a company that creates shopping sites, paid $3,750 each for Istanbul.co.com and CouponCodes.co.com. .Co.com, led by Ken Hansen, Paul Goldstone and Gregg McNair, offers third level domain names.

New TLD auction prices attack highs: Minds + Machines, Uniregistry, Donuts all win some domains -
Average purchase prices may be north of $3 million.
By all accounts, registries paid much more to settle contention sets during last week’s private auctions than in previous ones.
Minds + Machines won auctions for .garden and .yoga. It spent a net $5.97 million for the two domains once the proceeds of losing the .deals and .property private auctions and withdrawing the applications are taken into account.

Go Daddy/Afternic Sells $1.7million in domains for a week -
GoDaddy and Afternic’s reportable weekly domain sales for a week of 4/21/14 – 4/27/14.
The tip sale for a week was Modernize.com during $25,000.
Prostate.info was a tip non .com sale during $15,000
Total Sales $1,778,547 for a week.
Buffalo.org was a good buy imo for $2,100 and Mike.co sole for $2,500 with this already adult on a site:

Twitter Reports Earnings – Stock Down 9 % in after hours trading - Twitter just released their earnings for Q1 2014, earnings were actually better than expected. Monthly average user numbers continue to be a problem and disappoint analysts.
