DomainPros Buys 260 Five Digit Domains For $1M; $3,850 Per - DomainPros.com announced today that it just acquired 260 five number domain names (NNNNN.com) for $1,000,000
That works out to just over $3,800 per domain name.
“Most of those 260 domains originally belonged to Marchex’s portfolio of 5 digit domains” which Godaddy bought from Marchex.
Back in April we announced that Godaddy paid $26.2 Million dollars for Marchex’s portfolio of over 200,000 domain names, however its not clear if Godaddy still owned the domain names that DomainPros.com acquired.

GoDaddy sole $1.4 million of domain names from Marchex portfolio final quarter - Company getting early results from domain name portfolio.
GoDaddy released its Q3 earnings yesterday, and its 10-Q filing with the SEC gives some insight into how it is doing with the Marchex domain name portfolio.
The company paid $28.1 million to acquire the portfolio of about 200,000 domain names in April.

GoDaddy loses initial UDRP from Marchex portfolio acquisition - No one responded to the dispute.
GoDaddy has lost its first UDRP from the portfolio it acquired from Marchex in April.
The company didn’t respond to a UDRP filed by Dairyland Midwest, Inc. d/b/a AgVision for the domain name AgVision.com.

Another 7 total sale? Futbol.com is Sold -
GoDaddy.com has sold the premium domain name Futbol.com which is the word that most of the world outside of the US refers to as Soccer.
The domain name Futbol.com was one of the 200,000+ domain names that Godaddy bought from Marchex or $28.1 Million in April of this year.

Had your eyes on a domain during Marchex? Might wish to give GoDaddy a call - GoDaddy pricing the domain names at a more reasonable level.
One of the reasons GoDaddy acquired Marchex’s domain name portfolio (which was recently being sold under the Archeo brand) was that Marchex had steep prices on the domain names.
A friend tried to buy a domain name last year. He was initially told it would cost something like $30,000. Marchex later offered to sell it for something like $10,000, but my friend had moved on to a different domain.

Marchex CEO stairs down - A new boss at Marchex and Q4 earnings released.
Marchex reported earnings today, and also announced that long time CEO Russell Horowitz has stepped down. Company co-founder Pete Christothoulou has taken over the top post.
The company, which derives the bulk of its revenue from performance advertising in which customers pay for phone calls, had a rocky 2014 after losing the bulk of its business from its biggest client. The stock trades for about $4.00 now, well below its 52-week high of $12.84.

Marchex Files Federal Suit Over UDRP On Banco24horas.com and Banco24horas.net - Marchex Sales Inc, filed a Federal Lawsuit in the Eastern District of Virginia today over the domain names, banco24horas.com and banco24horas.net which were awarded in a UDRP to Tecnologia Bancaria S.A. of Brazil.
The lawsuit is for Reverse Domain Hijacking and for Declaratory Relief Under the Lanham Act 15 USC 1114(2)(d)(iv)-(v) For Tortious Interference with a Contract.

Marchex Reports: Archeo Sells $2.2 Million In Domains, But Other Revenue From Domains Dives - Marchex, Inc. (MCHX), reported its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2014.
The good news on the domain front is that Marchex’s Archeo division sold some $2.2 Million in domain names in the quarter (although the financials indicate this number to be $2.3 some verbiage below says its $2.2 in sales) compared to $1.3 Million for the same quarter last year. Marchex Sold $60M In Additional Stock This Week -
Marchex (MCHX) sold and additional 5,714,000 shares of Class B stock at $10.50 a share.
About half of the shares were sold by the company and the other half were sold by shareholders.
As for the $30 Million that Marchex is keeping it “intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes, which may include acquisitions or licenses of, or investments in, products, services, technologies or other businesses.”

Marchex’s Archeo Clarifies 4th Q Sales -
Last week we reported on Marchex earnings which included its Archeo division sold a total of 262 domain names in the 4th Quarter that yielded $1.6 million.
At the time we noted that the average sales price of domain names in 4Q was just over $6,100 per domain name which was well below the average price the company sold its domains in the third quarter of 2013.

Marchex’s Archeo division continues to sell domains at fairly high prices.
Marchex reported its fourth quarter earnings after the bell today. It included sales results from Archeo, its domain name division.
Archeo sold 262 domain names for a total of $1.6 million last quarter. That’s about double how much it sold last year in the same quarter.

Two domain name companies released third quarter earnings results after the bell yesterday.
Marchex reported GAAP revenue of $40.6 million, compared to $33.7 million in the same quarter of 2012. Its adjusted EBITDA fell to $3.4 million from $4.8 million in Q3 2012.

Marchex report earnings today after the market closed and its Archeo unit which operates the domain name portfolio of Marchex sold a total of 81 domain names for $1.9 Million in the third quarter of 2013.
