Owner of Houses.co.uk Who Paid £40,000 Blames Sedo For Auction Price of £2,999 - Remember the story a few weeks ago about the domain name Houses.co.uk  which was purchased a few years ago for  £40,000 was on sale for £2,999 on Sedo? The owner of the domain name blames Sedo and its automated valuation tool. Nominet (.UK) Release Domain Name Dispute Report For 2014 - Nominet, the nonprofit that  behind .UK, released its the annual summary of domain name disputes bought before its Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) which is similar to the UDRP system. A total of 726 complaints were made, up 8% on 2013. Owners of C.UK Generating 100,000 Uniques a month - Mike stumbled upon a very interesting use of a typo domain in the .UK extension. If you go to ebay.c.uk like Mike did, or any domain where you leave off the o in .co.uk, you get a page that explains that the company behind the domain is Claims.co.uk. Nominet Handles 674 Domain Complaints Down 17%; 55% Result in Domain Transfer - Nominet the company that operates the .co.uk and now the .uk domain name extension (ccTLD)  just released its report for its Dispute Resolution Service in 2013 (DRS). In 2013 Nominet handled 674 complaints down 17% from 2012 although the number of domain names registered increase 2,7% Brands using the DRS in 2013 included Lego, Swarovski, Cash Converters, O2, Virgin, L’Oreal, Coast Fashions, Barclays and St Johns Ambulance. Sedo .uk auction ends tomorrow - Auction timing is a mixed bag. Sedo’s .uk domain name auction featuring 30 .co.uk and .org.uk domain names ends tomorrow. So far three of the thirty domains have received bids and met their reserves. The top domain is moviedatabase.co.uk at 210 GBP. Backlash rising opposite second turn .uk domains - Existing .uk domain owners upset about plans for second level domains. Earlier this month I reported about .uk registry Nominet and its plan to release second level .uk domains. As of right now you can only register third level .uk domains, such as domain.co.uk. Nominet proposes second turn .uk domain names - Hi @Nic and all: The “Sunrise” period has, to my knowledge no legal standing in Court, anywhere; and if an owner of a Trademark happens to miss the window, offered by Nominet, the “registered” owner, has recourse through the UK (or any) Federal Court and the IPO.gov.uk, issued document will win well after the sunrise.
