Moore Stepping Down as CEO of Dark Blue Sea -
CEO Richard Moore not renewing contract.
Richard Moore is stepping down as chief executive officer of Dark Blue Sea (ASX: DBS) effective at the end of June. Dark Blue Sea is parent company of Fabulous, a popular domain name registrar and domain parking service for domainers.
According to a press release (pdf), Moore will work part time with the company in an executive director role. Moore has been CEO of the company since 2001.

Go Daddy gets three new patents, bringing total to five.
The Go Daddy Group, Inc, parent company of domain registrar GoDaddy, has been awardedthree new patents this month. Based on a search of “Go Daddy” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Go Daddy now has five patents. Its previously issued patents include one for private domain registration (whois privacy) and a server based spam filter.

With missing www., site shows page full of ads.
[Updated: It looks like the web site may not be hosted at GoDaddy. It’s on the company’s nameservers, but the IP address on the site shows Apple. GoDaddy says it’s not hosted with them. That would mean the only thing GoDaddy is guilty of is hosting ads on the www version of the domain while it’s being cnamed (or otherwise forwarded) to another web hosting service. GNSO approves motion for changes to registrar accreditation agreement.
At the Mexico City ICANN meeting, Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) approved a motion to adopt changes to the Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA) including new amendments. These changes are now open for public comment, after which the ICANN board of directors will vote on the changes.

Domain name registrar Dynadot is recovering from a hardware failure that took dynadot.com offline for two days. Webhosting, dns servers, website forwarding, parking, and email forwarding were not affected.

GoDaddy.com Still Growing & Hiring - With daily news of layoffs by the ten’s of thousands, and business closings topping the news, it’s great to see a company that is actually expanding in this lousy economy and it’s excellent news that it is in our industry.
According to the Phoenix Business Journal, GoDaddy Group is expanding it Scottsdale headquarter by about 21,000 square feet.
The space will house additions to the company’s customer care center and to house additional product developers.

Bob Parson Gets Covered by INC. Magazine - In a new story appearing in Inc. Magazine, entitled “The Way I Work”, Bob Parson discusses his daily routine as head of the world’s largest domain registrar.
Parson also discusses the first Super Bowl ads, and his idea for the Godaddy girl, which he seems to credits in large part with taking Godaddy.com from a 16% market share to having by far the most domains under management.

Transfer authorization code process will be easier under new ICANN policy.

Sedo domain listings are now on 11… but I can’t get it to work.
Domains listed for sale on Sedo are now being offered to customers of 11 Internet, one of the largest domain registrars. Sedo and 11 are owned by the same parent company.
