Domain Registration on Record Pace? Over 750K Added Yesterday Alone - Registrations of domain names seem to be going on at a record pace.
Yesterday saw the number of domain registrations across all Top Level Domain (TLD) names have a net add of over 750,000 domains according to registrarstats.com
“Net Add” mean its the amount of domains registered less the number of domain names deleted.
The gross numbers of domain names registered yesterday were close to 900,000.

.Auto .Car, .Cars Get 1st day Registrations during $60K Per Domain - The 1st day of the Early Access Program (EAP) opened up yesterday for the new gTLD’s .Auto, .Car and .Cars with day 1 prices set at $59,049.99 for each domain name at Godaddy and there appears to have been some takers at that price.

Amazon Turns On AmazonRegistry.com To Sell New gTLD Domain Names -
Amazon applied for 76 new generic top-level domain names (gTLD’s).
When Amazon applied for their new gTLD’s they applied to operate them on a closed basis meaning the public would not be able to register any domain names without Amazon allocating them, but the Governmental Advisory Council (GAC) to ICANN nixed the plan for the most part, while still allowing .Brand Applications.
