If We Want To Attract The Fortune 500 To Domains, We Should Have Gone To This Show - We all talk about it. For years and years now. Getting big business to understand the value of domains. Getting the Fortune 500 to “get” domains. Problem is the Fortune 500 isn’t coming to our trade shows. God knows Rick Howard have moved heaven and earth trying to get them to come to the show, even bringing the show to them, in New York and Silicon Valley. So maybe instead of banging our heads on the wall to get them to come to our shows, we need to go to there shows, and if so, we just missed ... read more ...

Tweet.me Sells for $11,505 - Twitter related .me domain names sells for five figures. The latest premium .me domain name auction is coming to an end, and Tweet.me looks to be the winner at $11,505. I can see this being used for a Twitter service, but I’m a bit concerned about all of the services popping up that use variants of Twitter and Tweet in their names: could Twitter ever come after them for trademark infringement? Lease.me sold for $7,605 with 139 bids and Massage.me sold for $6,005 ... read more ...

Moniker Silent Auction Needs Fixing - Platform needs major changes to accommodate extended auctions. Over the past couple days I’ve sorted through Moniker’s domain names in its TRAFFIC extended online auction. There are some great domains at relatively low prices. But be forewarned: participating in the auction may result in a migraine. The first problem is there are too many domain names (over 5,000). Many of them are great domains, but there’s a lot of crap in there. Low priced crap, but crap ... read more ...

3 Online Domain Name Auctions Going on during Once - Take advantage of lots of inventory to get good deals. There are three online domain name auctions going on right now, and that doesn’t include the regular auctions such as Sedo. I’m talking about the silent version of three live auctions held in the past two weeks: DomainConsultant’s GeoDomain Auction, Rick Latona’s TRAFFIC auction, and the Moniker auction. This means there’s a lot of inventory out there and lots of good deals. You just need to look ... read more ...

Handicapping Today’s Moniker Live Domain Auction - Many high quality domain names in today’s auction. Today’s live domain name auction by Moniker at the TRAFFIC conference is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. local time (6 p.m. EDT). GeoDomain Auction Gets More Sales - Longhorn.com and Ponce.com snag bids in extended auction. I learned something important when I went to Las Vegas for DomainConsultant’s live domain auction: the initial results are just the beginning. But they also make sure that no one has an incentive to hold off on buying domains in the live auction domains with the hope that they’ll be available for less: they never lower prices after ... read more ...

Bido Starting to Get Results - Recent auctions show that platform can deliver good prices. I’ve been a fan of domain name auction platform Bido for awhile, even though I’ve had my reservations. My most recent complaint was domain quality. But Bido seems to be picking up the slack in that category. And a funny thing has happened as quality has improved: domains are starting to sell for “good” prices. Just moments ago TechSupport.mobi sold for $540. Moniker’s Live Domain Auction Looks Like a Winner - Moniker meets the challenge with superb list of domain names. My general response to a list of domain names published for a live domain auction is usually subdued. Rarely do I see domain names that are priced to sell. But after taking plenty of flack for its last auction, Moniker seems to have stepped up to the plate for this month’s TRAFFIC auction. (See a full list of domains in the auction here.) WebCam.com Sells for $1.02 Million - Domain name WebCam.com is top sale at Rick Latona auction. Rick Latona wasn’t happy with the live portion of his company’s adult domain name auction. But he should be feeling a lot better now that WebCam.com sold for $1,020,000 in the silent auction. Latona previously confirmed a $1 million bid on the domain name was valid, so it’s fairly safe to say this deal will be concluded. The silent auction sold a handful of other valuable domain names, some of which ... read more ...
