CentralNic Buys Registrar Instra.com & Stock is Down Almost 20% - CentralNic (LON:CNIC) is buying privately-owned domain name registrar, Instra Group, funded in part from a £10mln placing of stock with investors at 40p a share, for almost £16mln (A$33mln). XYZ & Negari Beats Verisign In Federal Court, Again: CentralNic Too - .XYZ has just won another court battle against Verisign (VRSN). Back three weeks ago a Federal Court dismissed a case brought by Verisign against XYZ.com,  the registry for .XYZ and Daniel Negari personally alleging  false advertising by granting XYZ and Negari a short summary judgement opinion. VeriSign Swings to Profit in Q3, Domain Name Base adult 6% - VeriSign reports earnings and domain growth. VeriSign, which manages the registry for .com and .net domain names, reported a profitable third quarter. The company earned $53.6 million in the quarter, compared to a loss of $201.1 million in the same quarter in 2008.
