Global Domain Registrations Edge Closer to 300M: Verisign -
The number of domain names registered around the world grew by 2.2 million, or 0.8 percent, to 296 million at the end of June according to the latest Domain Name Industry Brief from Verisign.
With similar growth, the 300 million mark should be reached around the end of 2015. Worldwide registrations have grown by 16.4 million, or 5.9 percent, year over year.

HBO Buys 9 "Outcast" Domains For Upcoming Cinemax TV Series Outcast - Robert Kirkman’s “Outcast” which is a paranormal drama has been ordered as a series by Cinemax. The show Outcast was featured during Comic Con 2015 with OutcastCinemax.com which was registered November 24, 2014 and owned by HBO. The domain name is in use as a redirect to HBO.com featuring information from SDCC in July 2015. They are also using #outcastcinemax on Twitter.
Both HBO and Cinemax are subsidiaries of Time Warner.

GoDaddy says there's still upside for registrars and domain investors - Most very small businesses don’t have websites yet, but many plan to create one.
GoDaddy released results from a global survey today, showing that the vast majority of very small businesses (5 or fewer employees) still don’t have a website.
The survey included 4,000 businesses in Australia, Brazil, Canada, India, Mexico, United Kingdom and the United States.
59% of businesses said they don’t have a website. The upside: 55% report they intend to create a website in the next two years.

Wine.co for $25,000 and other finish user domain name sales - Wine.co tops list of public domain name sales at Sedo for the week.
Sedo handled $1.4 million worth of domain name transactions last week, with 56% of them resulting from “buy now” sales.
The top public sale was Wine.co, purchased by the wine store at Wine.com.br, for $25,000.
