Godaddy Is Up Over $6 a Share In Early Trading - Godaddy (GDDY) which went public today at $20 IPO price is trading as of publication at $26.30, up $6.30
Godaddy’s first trade was at $26.18 then slipped as low as $25.49 before bouncing to its inter-day high of $26.84.
Over 10,500,000 shares of Godaddy were traded in less than the 1st hour of trading.
Godaddy sold 22 Million shares at $20 a share so more than 50% of the amount of shares available to be traded have been traded already in the first hour.

WIPO sees UDRP increase - Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) complaints increased 2 percent in 2014, according to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
Trademark owners filed 2,634 cases concerning 5,591 domain names through the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
WIPO also speculated that registrations in new gTLDs have triggered UDRP cases. Registrations in new gTLDs represented 3.9 percent of domain names in WIPO’s caseload compared to 65.2 percent in .com in 2013.

GoDaddy shares cocktail 30% during open - So far, so good for GoDaddy’s IPO.
It’s not an April Fool joke — GoDaddy is off to a great start in the public markets.
Shares began trading at about $26 today, 30% over where the IPO priced. The $20 pricing was itself above the expected range of $17-$19.
At $26 a share, the company is being valued at about $4 billion.

IBM's Softlayer strike with ICANN crack notice - Notice appears to be triggered by customer complaint.
ICANN has sent a breach notice (pdf) to Everyones Internet, Ltd. dba SoftLayer, citing multiple contract infractions. Softlayer was acquired by IBM in 2013.
According to the most recent .com registry report from November, Softlayer’s domain business is meaningful. It had about 90,000 .com registrations at the time.

The .Club team is celebrating after crossing the 200,000 registration barrier less than a year after launch.
The numbers can be attributed to a good domain, low pricing, broad distribution and aggressive marketing.

GoDaddy goes open today, raises $460 million - Company prices above expected range, valuing company at over $3 billion.
GoDaddy will begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange today under the symbol “GDDY”.
The company priced at $20 per share and sold 23 million shares, raising $460 million. This was above its planned price range of $17-$19, and values the company at just over $3 billion.

Accordingly, the complaint filed by NAR with the Chancery Court in Delaware on November 10, 2014 seeking clarification on this matter has been dismissed.
Move was acquired by News Corp for $950 Million Dollars and the acquisition was completed on November 14, 2014.
The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Sedo augmenting smallest offers and commissions - Low-ball offers now must be a bit higher.
Domain name marketplace Sedo is increasing the minimum offer people have to make on a domain name as well as the minimum commission sellers pay.
Effective April 9, the minimum offer for most domains will increase from $60 to $90 (or EUR) or 75 GBP. Sellers will pay at least a $60 commission on all sales.

Google Inc. Acquires YT.com Domain Name - Google Inc. has acquired the 2 letter .com domain name YT.com. The domain came out of Privacy Protection at Dynadot on 3/30/2015 and transferred into MarkMonitor revealing Google as the buyers.
Based on what I can tell and whois history records, the transaction likely took place on 1/29/2015 when the domains registrant data changed from Cyber Trading Co. at Tucows and transferred to Dynadot under privacy.
