Electronic Frontier Foundation Tells ICANN to Delete URS from .Travel -
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has just told ICANN to drop the notion of applying the Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS) dispute resolution system to .Travel and other legacy gTLDs without undertaking a full Policy Development Process (PDP).
In a June 12 letter, EFF stated:
ICANN should not apply URS to the .travel domain, or to any additional domains, by the unaccountable means of staff inserting new conditions into the renewal of the registry operator's contract. Rather, the public ... read more ...

Uniregistry Announces Sale Of Pro.Flowers For $50K To FTD - On today’s DomainSherpa.com show, Frank Schilling the CEO of Uniregistry announced that the registry sold the new gTLD domain name Pro.Flowers To FTD for $50,000.
The domain name transferred from Uniregistry to FTD on April 10th.
The domain appears to be on the Uniregistry reserved list as the domain was not “registered” by Uniregistry until the day before it transferred to FTD. The domain was not registered by North Sound Domains.
FTD is represented by CSC Domains.

GoDaddy: Alleged discriminatory email not authentic - GoDaddy says it didn’t send email calling job applicant an obese Christian.
GoDaddy has formally denied allegations that it sent an email to a job applicant explaining that it wouldn’t hire him because he was an obese Christian. The denial included detailed steps the company took to determine the email wasn’t authentic.

Apple Inc. Acquires 170 iCloud Domains From Xcerion - In April 2011 Apple Inc. reportedly paid $4.5 Million dollars for the one domain name iCloud.com from a company named Xcerion. Fast forward some 4 years later and now 170 iCloud related domains have transferred ownership from Xcerion to Apple Inc according to whois records.

Almost All Of Free .Berlin Domain Names Have Expired 37K So Far - .Berlin had over 31,000 domain names expire yesterday adding to the previous day where over 36,000 domain names expired.
.Berlin about a year ago allowed free domain registrations for 2 days, which totaled somewhere between 70,000-75,000 domain names with two registrants picking up almost 70,000 domain names just between the two.
Now that these free domain names have come up for renewal it seems very few have been renewed.
