Toys.com Loses Google Ranking - Toys ‘R’ Us loses search traffic from Toys.com domain name. As I predicted a couple weeks ago, Toys.com has been de-indexed by Google because the domain is forwarded to ToysRUs.com. Now the value of Toys ‘R’ Us’ $5.1M purchase of Toys.com has been relegated to type-in traffic and potentially some of the inbound links to Toys.com. The type-in traffic is valuable, but now the company doesn’t hold a lock on the #1, #2, and #4 positions in Google for the ... read more ...

Will Toys ‘R’ Us Flub $5.1M Toys.com Purchase? - Domain is merely forwarding to ToysRUs.com. Toys ‘R’ Us’ $5.1M purchase of Toys.com has been approved by the court. The domain has not been transferred according to whois, but the domain name is now forwarding to ToysRUs.com. Big mistake. Toys.com is extremely valuable for both its direct navigation traffic (people typing the domain name into their browser) as well as search rankings. For example, Toys.com is currently #4 in Google for the search term “toys”. ToysRUs.com ... read more ...

Toys ‘R’ Us, Frank Schilling Among Bidders to Pay $1.35M or More for Toys.com - 6 companies to bid in Friday’s Toys.com auction. In a review of qualified bid documents, Domain Name Wire has discovered some familiar faces in Friday’s auction of Toys.com: Frank Schilling, National A-1 Advertising, and Toys ‘R’ Us to name a few. It’s clear that the press coverage of the original auction brought more bidders out of the woodwork. Most of the bidders submitted an initial bid of $1.35M, as I predicted. But it’s clear the auction will ... read more ...

Goldberger on Toys.com Team, eToys.com Buyer Remains Mystery - Follow up to yesterday’s auction story. I spent several hours yesterday reading through bankruptcy documents before breaking the news about a major domain name auction in Delaware on February 4. Since then I’ve read more documents to try to piece together the major winners at the auction. The two high profile winners — Faculty Lounge Partners and Eagle, LLC probably won’t ring a bell with you. It appears they were set up to buy domains in the auction. There’s ... read more ...
