Struggling Austin internet company RetailMeNot spent $4.3 million to acquire second level domain names under a new top level domain name, an SEC filing revealed. The purchase was first reported by George Kirikos, and OnlineDomain wrote about it earlier today.

Did Google Buy ABC.mx for $17,700 ? - I came across a blog post on PublicDomains.com and it talked about ABC.mx being sold by the owner of the blog.
To our surprise one of our domains sold last week (08/04/1) and matches Google’s new site, that domain is ABC.mx.
We purchased the domain back in September of 2009 from the landrush phase at a price of $799.99, and we were using it for our own corporate online business.

Both domain names were owned by Arms Armor, Inc. of Minneapolis, MN and registered at Network Solutions for a very long time.
Both domain names have now transferred to NetNames Ltd.

Three letter .com domain names continue to command top dollar.
The domain name GJQ.com has a $36,000 bid at Sedo. It’s in an auction that ends around 1 am EDT tomorrow morning. With just one bidder, this was likely an offer that was pushed to auction.
Sedo’s current Great Domains auction also has a lot of three character domains on offer, including dke.com, utt.com, hvz.com and sgj.com. The first three have reserves under 25,000 euros.

Yahoo! Inc. Sells 2 Letter Domain Name AV.com - Yahoo! Inc. has sold the premium 2 letter domain name AV.com according to whois records. The domain name has transferred to domain name registrar eName.
Also according to whois records, the buyer is a Jack Shen from Shanghai China.

GoDaddy adding 435 TLDs to domain name aftermarket - Registrar expanding number of domains that can be sold in its aftermarket.
GoDaddy is vastly expanding the number of top level domain names that can be sold on its aftermarket starting tomorrow.
The company will add the capability to sell domains under 435 top level domains. 230 will be gTLDs that were previously blocked from listing and the rest are country code domain names.

In an unprecedented level of transparency, .Club has revealed which domain names it sold through registrars at premium prices last month.
The registry began offering about 8,000 premium-priced domain names through the regular registrar purchase path last month. It sold 12 premium domain names through this channel last month, plus four through its existing sale partner Sedo.

Domain Holdings sells $6.1 million in domains in Q2 - Domain Holdings recovers from first quarter but is still down compared to last year.
Domain Holdings reported sales numbers for Q2 2015 including $6.15 million in domain name sales.
This is up from $4.75 million sold in Q1, but is less than half of what it sold in Q2 2014.
64% of sales were in the United States and 34% were to China.
85% of domains were .com, 3% .net and .org, and 10.5% were various gTLDs. The company sold a .IO domain name for six figures.
