GoDaddy’s 60 Day Transfer Lock Closer to Termination - GNSO Council approves changes to domain transfer blocks. In September 2007 ICANN began working on an advisory that targeted transfer blocks like this. After ICANN finalized its advisory this past April I was happy to report that GoDaddy appeared to be allowing transfers even if changes were ... read more ...

GoDaddy Hikes Price of .Net and .Org Domain Names to $13.19 - You’ve been paying more at the pump. Now you’re paying more at the registrar. I’m not sure when this happened, but a reader pointed out that GoDaddy has hiked prices on .net and .org domain names to $13.19 per domain. That’s a 30% increase. This is probably just a business decision by GoDaddy to maximize profit. It can easily calculate how many .net and .org sales it loses and determine if the price hike is worth it. When I asked GoDaddy about its ... read more ...

ICANN To Offload Domains from De-Accredited Registrar - Who wants 1,440 domains? Good question. It was a nice pickup for GoDaddy of nearly 1 million domain names. So what happens when a small registrar with only 1,440 domain names under management loses its accreditation? That’s a good question, especially since a registrar has to endure a lot of trouble to get the domains. ICANN ... read more ...

A lot of e-mails.me - I just got though going the 2 step process for creating separate accounts for each of the .me domains I backordered, which look like they are going into auction mode.
