GoDaddy business have purebred 850k new TLDs - GoDaddy leads the way for new domain names.
On GoDaddy’s investor conference call this week, the company disclosed that its customers have registered 850,000 names in new top level domains. That’s over the course of about 18 months of availability.
GoDaddy customers have registered more new top level domain names with it than at any competing registrar, which shouldn’t come as a surprise for two reasons.

GoDaddy reports 16.5% YoY income growth - GoDaddy’s topline growth continues.
GoDaddy reported earnings after the bell today.
The company posted 16.5% earnings growth in Q2 2015 compared to the same quarter a year ago. That’s a slight decline from the 17.5% year over year number it turned in last quarter.
Revenue was up 5% in Q2 2015 compared to Q1.
GoDaddy reported a heavier net loss of $(71.3) million, but $51.1 million of the loss was due to one time costs associated with the IPO and early termination of debt.

Rightside has record income in Q2 - Rightside continues upward trajectory.
Domain name company Rightside posted record revenue of $52.2 million in Q2, the company announced today. That compares to $46.7 million in Q2 2014 and $50.5 million in the first quarter of this year.
The company posted revenue gains in all three segments compared to Q2 2014.
Registrar services revenue, which includes eNom and Name.com, increased 10% to $43.3 million compared to $39.4 million.

Rightside and NameCheap ink longer tenure deal - Deal adds some certainty to Rightside’s future revenue.
After frequent short-term extensions, Rightside’s eNom and reseller NameCheap have signed a longer term reseller
deal.

GoDaddy has lost its first UDRP from the portfolio it acquired from Marchex in April.
The company didn’t respond to a UDRP filed by Dairyland Midwest, Inc. d/b/a AgVision for the domain name AgVision.com.

Domain name registrar OpenTLD, which had its ability to register new TLDs suspended by ICANN, is back in action for now.

GoDaddy is testing the use of an “ad” designation in its domain name search results.

Former GoDaddy employees contend they're due overtime - Plaintiffs say they shouldn’t have been categorized as exempt and are owed overtime.
Three former* GoDaddy employees have sued the company, saying they should be paid overtime for work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Sal Careaga, Joshua Berry and Amanda Collins each worked in the Website Design Department, which designs websites for GoDaddy customers. The plaintiffs claim they worked more than 40 hours in some workweeks, but were not paid time-and-a-half.

Namecheap Launches Respectourprivacy.com To Save Private Whois Registrations - Namecheap.com, in association with the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) and Fight For The Future (FFTF), launched the website Respectourprivacy.com to allow people to file a comment with ICANN letting them know they object to the proposed rule that would greatly restrict the use of privacy or proxy services on whois records of domain names.

CentralNic raises £2.3 Million - CentralNic pads bank account with institutional placement.
Publicly traded domain name registry and registrar CentralNic (AIM: CNIC) has raised £2.3 Million by placing 5,750,000 new ordinary shares. The shares were sold at 40 pence each, above yesterday’s closing mid-market price of 34.5 pence. Shares are trading between 37.50 pence and 39.00 pence today.
The shares will represent 8.58% of the company’s ordinary share capital.

GMO Internet (Largest Registrar in Japan) Raises $65million - GMO Internet is the largest registrar in Japan, they made news last November purchasing Z.com for JPY800 million or $6,776,448 USD. The dollar amount is the exchange rate at the time of the transaction. Today it would be $6,506,768.
TechInAsia.com reported today that the company just received a $65 million investment from Mitsui Sumitomo to provide the financial wherewithal to strengthen their payment solution and to help foster the start ups they work with.
