Parking page ads lead to a UDRP loss - What ads show up on a parked page make a big difference. Anyone can own the domain name MyEnterprise.com. Enterprise is a dictionary word, often referring to businesses and large organizations. But the owner of MyEnterprise.com just lost the domain name in a UDRP brought by Enterprise Rent-A-Car.com, and for good reason. It’s worth digging into this a bit to clear two common misconceptions: 1. You can blame PPC algorithms for the keywords displayed on your parked page. 2. You shouldn’t park a ... read more ...

So far, my "For Sale" usually landers have drawn a wrong form of inquiries - People submit offers for domain names when they don’t mean to. A couple months ago I switched some of my domain names on Domain Name Sales from PPC landers to “for sale” landing pages. I was curious if this would increase the number of inquiries on my domain names. The short answer is yes, but most of these inquiries have been from confused people. If you park your domain names, you already know that a lot of confused people contact you about them. They fill out forms asking for support, refunds, ... read more ...

TrafficClub.com was a domain traffic splitting system created over a decade ago by Moniker. Clients pointed their domain names to TrafficClub, and the service split-test traffic between multiple parking companies. Oversee.net shuttered the service after acquiring Moniker. It pushed customers to ... read more ...

Domain parking still falling, according to survey - Revenue still shrinking for many domainers. How low can domain name parking revenue go? Still lower, apparently. That’s according to the approximately 200 people who responded to this year’s Domain Name Wire Survey. 36% of respondents said their 2014 domain name parking revenue was lower than 2013. Only 17% said it was better, while roughly half said it had stabilized. Most domain name parkers have settled on just one domain parking company, rather than working with a bunch. About 40% of people ... read more ...

Warning: do we know where your parked domain trade is going? - Zero click traffic may lead to scam and installer sites. “Zero click” monetization for parked domains, in which domain traffic is forwarded to another site rather than landing on a page full of ads, is nothing new in the domain name industry. In recent years, though, more parking companies have integrated with zero click providers in order to compensate for falling revenues from Google ads. Why your new TLDs won’t work good with domain parking (yet) - Domain parking ads don’t consider the full meaning of a domain name that spans the dot. A couple weeks ago Donuts launched the .cash top level domain name. This got me thinking about domain parking. I’ve owned a few .com domain names with the term “cash” in them. When they got clicks, they were high dollar clicks. There are lots of expensive Adwords terms related to cash. So would traffic to something.cash monetize well? No, not on the basis of the top level ... read more ...
