BMW Has No Plans to Sell Alphabet.com - Seems like everyone is talking about domain names this week, the New York Times ran a story on Google and their new Alphabet brand. The story highlights concerns of other small businesses using Alphabet as a brand. Did Google Buy Alphabet.Xyz for $3,800 - GTLD.link is a forum that focuses solely on new gtlds. Last night at 8:28 a member posted he owned Alphabet.xyz and sold it. Sold too cheap So, I received a $2,500 Sedo offer last week for alphabet.xyz. Google's Alphabet Inc. Announcement Fires Up .com / .net Registrations - As we noted earlier today over 6,000 .XYZ new gTLD domain names were registered yesterday,  after Google Inc. announced it’s holding company Alphabet Inc., using the domain name ABC.XYZ. Google Making Changes To Google + - In a blog post today Google announced some changes upcoming to Google + and how users can use just a Google account to create accounts and share info. There have been complaints over the last couple of years that you needed a Google + profile to act as your identity. Your Google + profile for example if public, is searchable. Google Hates ICANN's Attempt to Eliminate Whois Privacy Calling it "Impractical & Ineffective -   Google filed it’s comment on the whois privacy issue with ICANN today. Over 242 million Internet users visited Google properties in May - In a post on 24/7 Wall Street they broke down visitors to Google, Facebook,Yahoo, etc… for the month of May. Google owned sites had 242.4 million visits in May. Of course Google has You Tube and a few other popular sites under their banner. Only three companies had over 200 million visitors for May. More Amazon new TLD reg's and Google's peculiar domain names - I don’t understand what Amazon is doing with these new TLDs, and some curious Google domain registrations. Earlier this week I wrote about Amazon.com’s many generic/descriptive domains registered under new TLDs that it is forwarding to particular pages on its site.
