Google Malaysia Experiences DNS Redirect Attack -
TheStat.com.my is reporting that Google Malaysia was hit by a DNS redirect hack. It looks like Google’s actual servers were not comprimised and not everyone accessing the local Google site is being affected.
From the article:
Some users visiting the Google Malaysia website are seeing a hacked page that says “Google Malaysia hacked by TiGER-M@TE”.
Although TiGER-M@TE claims to have hacked the search giant’s local website, it seems to be another DNS redirect attack on the .my domain.

Owners of C.UK Generating 100,000 Uniques a month - Mike stumbled upon a very interesting use of a typo domain in the .UK extension. If you go to ebay.c.uk like Mike did, or any domain where you leave off the o in .co.uk, you get a page that explains that the company behind the domain is Claims.co.uk. The company has apparently done a lot of work helping charities and they are also owners of C.co.uk and the matching C.uk.
So what the company is doing is using a wildcard on any typos and bringing users to this landing page, the page explains who they ... read more ...

Why .Com Probably Won't Get NetFlixed By The New Gtlds - Alex Kehr wrote an article on his personal blog, titled “Why .COM will probably get Netflixed by New TLDs”

The other thing missing from the article is that Alex works for Name.com who is owned by Rightside. It helps the reader know where you are coming from and where your particular bias may lie.
