Almost All Of Free .Berlin Domain Names Have Expired 37K So Far - .Berlin had over 31,000 domain names expire yesterday adding to the previous day where over 36,000 domain names expired. .Berlin about a year ago allowed free domain registrations for 2 days, which totaled somewhere between 70,000-75,000 domain names with two registrants picking up almost 70,000 domain names just between the two. Bill Passes in House to Give Congress 30 days to examination Internet Transition Plan - TheHill.com is out with an article today about a House subcommittee approving a bill that would require President Obama to give Congress some time to review any Internet transition. The bill today was a compromise of a previous bill that would have included a GAO report. ICANN president Fadi Chehade said the group would likely be able to give the government a transition proposal by the end of the year. GMO Internet (Largest Registrar in Japan) Raises $65million - GMO Internet is the largest registrar in Japan, they made news last November purchasing Z.com for JPY800 million or $6,776,448 USD.  The dollar amount is the exchange rate at the time of the transaction. Today it would be $6,506,768. The transaction took place last Wednesday, June 3, 2015 with the domain name being acquired by Jinxin Wang Luo of Fujian, China according to whois records. I did try and get a purchase price but the buyer did not wish to share the details publicly.
