Big Up Swing In Personal Domain Registration To Point To Social Media Sites - GoDaddy Inc. (NYSE: GDDY), and Verisign (VRSN) are seeing an upswing in people registering “personal domain names” just to point them to their social media sites.
It seems people have gotten the word that they don’t control their social media pages, the underlying social media company’s do so they are registering these personal domain names and pointing them to a their social media page.

Comcast Launches "Watchable" Video Service, Paid Reported "Six Figures" For Domain Name - Comcast has launched a new digital video platform to take on YouTube, Facebook and more with the brand name of Watchable.
Comcast has secured the exact matching .com domain name to use for its newest video brand, with the stand alone website being at: Watchable.com
The latest product, Watchable.com, is a free video service and focuses on videos from online services like Vice, BuzzFeed, GoPro and more via an iPhone app, web-based player or directly on Xfinity.

Publicly Traded Autodesk, Inc. Purchases Graphic.com Domain Name From GoDaddy.com - Publicly traded company Autodesk, Inc. has purchased the premium generic domain name Graphic.com from another public company, GoDaddy.com.
GoDaddy is listed on NYSE: GDDY with a market cap of $3.99 Billion. Autodesk is listed on NASDAQ: ADSK which has a $9.95 Billion market cap.
The domain name was part of the domain name portfolio GoDaddy acquired from Marchex in a $28.1 Million dollar deal in April 2015.

New gTLD .Miami Gets Almost 5,000 Registrations After It's 1st Day Of Availability - The new domain name extension .Miami , which had it’s first day of General Availability yesterday, where it could be registered on a first come, first served basis got almost 5K registration including around 200 in Sunrise.
According to ntldstats.com, .Miami had 4,959 domain names in the zone after its full day of GA.

Stolen Domain Name XAG.com Returned Via UDRP - Michael Evans and Chord Consulting Inc. d/b/a XAG (“Complainant”), represented by John Berryhill,just got the stolen domain name xag.com returned in a one member panel UDRP decision:

Here are Some .NYC Collision Domains That Won't Be Available To Be Registered Next Week - .NYC updated it’s list of domain names it will be releasing from the collision list next week.
The collision domains will be release on 8 October 2015, these domains are being offered on a first come first served basis at normal registration fees with no premium renewal fees.

Only sales of $2,000 or some-more are enclosed in a news and over 50% of a sales were from a sale of one domain name GJ.com that sole for 694,095.00

PassItOn.com sells for $64,000 on Sedo - PassITon.com sold for $64,000 on Sedo,when I saw it I wondered if Mike Berkens owned it because Mike does well with popular phrases. Just yesterday Mike sold LoseYourShirt.com for $10,000 on Go Daddy.
The owner was not Mike but a company called Commerce Stream. The domain has been registered since 1997 and it looks like it has had a few corporate owners over the years.

BMW Wins The Right To The Domain B.MW in a UDRP - Bayerische Motoren Werke AG of Munich, Germany, (BMW) just won the rights to the domain hack b.mw in a UDRP decision.
We wrote about the filing of the UDRP back in July 24th of this year, as .mw is a ccTLD (country code domain extension)

Back on June 1, 2015 TheDomains discovered that The Readers Digest Association had acquired the domain name TMBI.com from Get On The Web, but we were not sure “why” at that time, but now we do know why.

This case really should have gotten a Reverse Domain Name Hijacking ruling.

Florida Owner of UberPromotions.com Sues Uber.com For Trademark Infringement - UBER PROMOTIONS, INC. a Florida corporation filed a federal lawsuit today against the the world famous Uber.com whose formal corporate name is UBER TECHNOLOGIES, INC for trademark infringement, unfair competition under the Trademark Act of 1946, under Florida law and under common law.
The Florida corporation alleged they had a website for transportation services started in Gainesville Florida in 2006, home of the Florida Gators, several years before what we all know as Uber.com started.
