Register.com/Netsol Must Have A Different Defination Of A “Premium” Domains Than we Have - I got this email a few days ago from Register.com/NetworkSolutions
Its certainly by no means the first of these type of emails I get from registrars.com trying to get you to register domains, typically something close to another domain I have registered.
I have no idea how they pull their data, as we have very few domains with either and all caught on the drop, however lets just say that Register.com/NetworkSolutions.com and I have quite a different definition of a premium domain.

As we always do we point out that there is no cost to pre-register a new gTLD, no obligation to actually register it even if you do pre-register it and pre-registering obviously doesn’t guarantee in anyway you will get the domain.
Interestingly the new gTLD with the most number of applications ... read more ...

Who Are Simonas Balnys & Bill Everett & Why Do They Keep Sending Offers & Never Respond? - As a large domain portfolio owner I get lots of offers and lots of spam.
Most the spam I can get rid of by marking it Junk and all future emails that follow will go to the junk file.
I don’t take moving someone to Junk lightly as I expect once I place them in that folder they will have no further access to me and I to them.
So apart from obvious spam and phishing I don’t assume anything is Junk until it proves itself to be Junk.
One of the quickest ways to get on my Junk list is to send me offers, ... read more ...

Breaking: a initial loyal laches UDRP decision -
National Arbitration Forum panel finds case should be barred based on laches.
The doctrine of laches bars bringing a claim after an unreasonable delay in a way that unduly hurts the opposing party.
Laches started creeping into UDRP cases over the past couple years. But panels usually mention it as part of what led them to their conclusion.
Now a three person panel has decided a case based entirely on laches.

I don’t mind, especially since there’s no more funky capitalization. (I always had double check if it was DOMAINfest or DomainFEST.)
This year’s conference takes place February 5-7 at the usual location: the beautiful Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica.
