OrderInn.com sues Google Ventures-backed Ordr.in over name -
Company claims trademark infringement.
Las Vegas company Order Inn, Inc., which uses the domain name OrderInn.com, has sued startup Ordr.in for trademark infringement.
Order Inn is a food service provider that connects hotels without their own room service to nearby restaurants — hence the “Inn” instead of “In” in its name. (I give branding credit to the company; it also owns OrderIn.com.)

Tucows: 14.1 million domains and Ting has 5,000+ accounts -
Tucows continues to grow domain business while mobile phone service Ting gets bigger.
Tucows’ total domains under management hit 14.1 million at the end of last quarter, the company announced on its investor conference call last evening.
That’s up 21% from the same time last year. New registrations declined by 12%, which the company blames on “general industry softness in North America and Europe and some one-time events”.

Afternic.com Sells $1.04MM In Domains Led By NationLine.com At $11.3K - Afternic.com just published its report of domain name sales totalling $1,043,592 for the week ending November 11th, 2012. The publicly reportable sales were led by NationLine.com for $11,375 followed by YaThink.com at $10,000.

Sedo.com Transactions For The Week Total $2.2 Million - Sedo just posted its weekly report for the period ending November 12th, 2012.
In all, 919 transactions took place on Sedo’s marketplace and via SedoMLS, totalling over $2.2 million.
Over 42% of total sales were the result of Buy Now listings.

Tucows Reports: Revenue adult 17% & Sells $1.4 Million In Domains & Announces Tender Offer To Buy Back More Stock - Tucows.com (TCX) reported its financial results for the third quarter ending September 30, 2012, after the market closed today and also announced a tender offer to re-purchase up to 6.5 Million shares of its own stock at prices ranging from $1.35 to $1.50
Tucows shares closed at $1.12 during trading so it should get a nice pop on the open tomorrow
Net revenue for the third quarter of 2012 increased 17% to a record $29.3 million from $25.1 million for the third quarter of 2011.

After 5 years French Court Finds Registrar EuroDNS & Registry AFNIC Not Responsible For TM Infringing Domain Registrations - Back in 2008, 13 French companies filed suit against the registrar EuroDNS and the French Association for Internet Naming in Cooperation (hereinafter: AFNIC), which runs the .Fr ccTLD
The suit alleged that EuroDNS and AFNIC were at fault for allowing third parties to register 129 domain names infringing on their respective Trademarks.
They sued EuroDNS for € 2.9 million and demanded that AFNIC be ordered to freeze or block of the domain names.

The Moniker SnapNames premium year-end auction ends Thursday, and already 26 of 185 domain names have bids.
Of those, 14 have met their reserves. 71 domain names have no reserve at all.
The top domain so far is White.net at $7,650 with one bidder.
VZG.com has attracted the most bidders with 14 people vying for the domain name. It has met its reserve and the top bid is currently $3,452.

Last week’s end user domain sales report is a week late because I was traveling this week.
Two sports domains traded hands this week at stunningly low prices given who the buyers were. Major League Baseball paid just $900 for TopOfTheOrder.com and while the Miami Heat paid just $1,358 for TheHeatStore.com.

In August a Florida man filed a lawsuit claiming he invested $123,000 into a business to run the .bim new top level domain that didn’t get off the ground.

Find.Se Sells For $50,000 - The domain name Find.Se just sold for 40,000 Euro’s on Sedo.com or about $50,000.
.Se is the country code (ccTLD) for Sweden.
It will be interesting to see where this sale falls on the all time high sale list for the .Se extension which Ron Jackson covers it for DNjournal.com
On DNjournal.com, year to date chart of the top ccTLD sales none of them are the .Se extension.
This sale will tie for #18 on the top 100 ccTLD sales of the year.

ICANN launched a beta of MyICANN during last month’s meeting in Toronto.
The site, hosted at MyICANN.org, provides notifications about new documents published to ICANN’s web site.
It sounds simple and it is. It also only alerts you to documents that have been published, and these same documents have always been published to the site.

Domain Registrar 1and1 Running TV Commercials Promoting “Domain Days” Without Owning DomainDays.com - The domain name registrar, 1and1.com is is running televisions commercial in some heavy rotation today during NFL games touting its domain name registration sale its calling “Domain Days” for November.
Not only doesn’t 1and1.com own the domain name DomainDays.com, but to add insult to injury the domain is not even registered at 1and1.com its registered at Moniker.com

It was just over a year ago that Groupon.com went public at $20 a share, given it an implied valuation of $13 Billion.
