At the last TRAFFIC conference in Orlando I had a conversation with one of the more successful domainers. We chatted about parking and the drop in parking revenue, and also discussed sales. He told me he is starting to sell some of his portfolio:
“With domain parking down, I’m selling a couple domains a month to maintain the same cash flow I had last year,” he said.
Of course, parking revenue is very different ... read more ...

Rick Speaks and You Should Listen - Although Rick Schwartz rarely posts anymore on his blog, he had a very interesting comment on our blog, answering a question posed by another reader.
I think Rick’s answer is so on the money and insightful, it needs to be highlighted and read by all, deserving of a post dedicated to it.
The question was in response to our post yesterday “The 3 Rules of Domaining” and was asked by one of our readers, Tony and directed to Rick:

Miami and Ft. Lauderdale are in the top five markets in the US in foreclosure rates, number of unsold homes relative to population, prices have declined 25% or more in the past year and have recently been predicted to decline another 20%-25% this year.
However, though an acquaintance, who is a high end real estate broker in the area, I have learned that no less than 5 homes have sold in the past 60 days ... read more ...

If Fantasy Leagues can use Famous Players names, because can’t domainers? -
The Supreme Court’s refusal to hear the case also throws into question any licensing deals already in place, something MLB had said amounted to “billions of dollars.”
When MLB appealed to the high court in February, it argued that such deals could be jeopardized if companies had a free-speech right to use the names of famous people without permission.
The St. Louis-based fantasy league operator that brought the lawsuit successfully countered that ballplayers are well-known to the public so ... read more ...

For example, there’s American Airlines (NYSE: AMR), which is using its standard AA.com address and redirecting it to a mobile site. It owns AmericanAirlines.mobi, ... read more ...
