Google is now partial of Alphabet, uses ABC.xyz - Alphabet uses .xyz domain name. Google announced a new holding company called Alphabet today, and it’s using the domain name ABC.xyz. This is a huge win for Daniel Negari’s .xyz, and new top level domains in general. Google will be part of Alphabet, but some of the company’s more long term bets will be separate companies operating under Alphabet. Reading Larry Page’s intro note on ABC.xyz, I couldn’t help but compare it to Hooli.xyz, the fictitious company from HBO’s Silicon Valley that ... read more ...

.XYZ Starts Taking Domain Registrations Directly From Its Site -           .XYZ sent out an email the other day announcing that they were taking live domain name direct registrations from their registry site at Gen.xyz for .XYZ domains While a lot of new gTLD registries look like they take registrations from their registry site,  I believe that .XYZ joins only Uniregisty as a registry, to have live domain name registrations from the registry site. .XYZ appears to be a domain name registrar reseller, rather than have their own Registrar credentials. Digging into .xyz's domain name registrations - A look at how .xyz domain names are being used. .xyz is big — about 900,000 domains — but it’s also controversial since many of the domains were given away for free. Using data from last month, dataprovider was able to reach about 550,000 .xyz domain names (the rest were inaccessible in their spidering). Here are ... read more ...
