The charity auction of e.co, sponsored by .Co Internet and Sedo, has started and runs through June 10.
A lot of people have been comparing this auction to that of e.Biz, but I don’t think the comparison makes sense. e.Biz sold for so much because it’s a very common term — eBiz. Just look at the buyer, which owns Ecommerce.com, to understand the value.

Sedo Keeps Growing and Growing and Growing… -
Brokerage and parking company continues to grow customer numbers.
The Sedo customer base continues to grow, according to the company’s first quarter 2010 report (pdf). The domain name brokerage and parking company now has 1,051,000 registered members, 16.1 million domain names on its platform, and 7.1 million domain names available for sale.

The managers of Escom, LLC, which owns the Sex.com domain name, have agreed to enter into an agreement with Sedo to sell the domain name. Terms of the brokerage agreement are confidential.

Sedo Sells Record Number of Domains in Q1 -
Online domain marketplace sets new bar with Q1 sales.
Domain name marketplace Sedo sold a record number of domain names in Q1. The company sold 11,942 domains in the quarter compared to 10,070 domains in the fourth quarter of last year, and growth of 29% compared to Q1 2009.

Software.de Sells for $315k, Business.TV Sale Completed -
Country codes lead sales lists, but interesting series of “license plate” sales is most curious.
Sedo has sold the domain name Software.de for 235,025 EUR, or about $315,000 USD at today’s exchange rates. The domain name is still undergoing transfer so the new owner hasn’t been disclosed.
The domain broker also completed the sale of a number of .tv domain names from its recent themed auction. Business.tv leads the way at $100,999.

No Landmark Deals, But Another Strong Sales Week during Sedo -
Sales results for the past week.
Sedo is reporting strong domain name sales over the past week, although it doesn’t have any of the six figure deals we’ve become spoiled accustomed too. The company reported about $850,000 USD in disclosed sales, not including smaller transactions.

Creditor to Sex.com says Mike Mann proves its point.
DOM Partners, a creditor and equity investor in Sex.com owner Escom, LLC, has filed a reply (pdf) to Mike Mann’s opposition to DOM’s motion to dismiss bankruptcy proceedings against Escom.
In the reply, DOM Partners says that Mann’s opposition and declaration proves that he filed the bankruptcy case in bad faith to prevent a planned foreclosure auction of the Sex.com domain name.

Sedo completed well over $1 million in domain name transactions last week, including helping Yahoo! sell MusicVideos.com for $250,000.
