Google's Alphabet Inc. Announcement Fires Up .com / .net Registrations - As we noted earlier today over 6,000 .XYZ new gTLD domain names were registered yesterday, after Google Inc. announced it’s holding company Alphabet Inc., using the domain name ABC.XYZ.
It is interesting though, as Mike pointed out that of the 6,000 newly registered .xyz domains registered yesterday hundreds of them related to ABC, Alphabet and XYZ.
I wanted to compare that to .com / .net domain registrations relating to those three terms.

Meet Google New Parent's Company Alphabet Whose Domain Name is ABC.XYZ - Google announced today on its company’s blog, its forming a new parent company to see all of its businesses calling it Alphabet.
The domain name of the holding company is not going to be Alphabet.com but the new gTLD abc.xyz.

.Online Tops 550 Sunrise Registrations With 15 Days To Go - Radix the owner of the new gTLD .Online told TheDomains.com today that the number of Sunrise domain name registrations for .Online by trademark holders have exceeded 550 with over 15 days to go.

Bloomberg Files UDRP To Gain Control Of The Domain That Caused The Twitter Stock Swing - Bloomberg filed a UDRP to take control of the domain name Bloomberg.Market the domain that caused shares of Twitter to rise 8% when it published a fake report that Twitter was being bought out.
Bloomberg.Market which you can see a screenshot of here, was taken down by the Registry of .Market, Rightside (NAME) a few hours after the Twitter story broke per their “normal operating procedures”

We know that around 3,400 domain names were registered in Sunrise for up to $2,000 wholesale.
That is almost $7 Million dollars if they were all at $2K, which they should be since the Sunrise period was only opened to those in the Trademark Clearinghouse (THCH) and all those in the TMCH had their domains priced at the premium $2K figure (wholesale).
