.Com Winners & Losers: Chinese registrars, Uniregistry continue surge - Chinese surge continues in latest .com reports
ICANN has published Verisign’s registrar data for .com from October, and it shows the continued surge of registrations in China.
Last month I wrote about how two Chinese domain name registrars, HiChina and eName, surged into the top 5 registrars worldwide for .com registrations. Both registrars remain in the top 5 in the latest report.

ICANN has published Verisign’s registrar data for .com from September, and it’s starting to show the surge of .Com registrations in China.
As I do every month, I ran the numbers to see which registrars performed best in terms of new registrations and transfers.

.Wang Adds 90K+ Domains in 1 Day: 160K in 3 Days: Becomes 3rd Largest New gTLD -
The new gTLD .Wang gained some 90,000 new domain registrations in the last day or so and over 160,000 new domain registrations since October 17th which is an increase of 50%
According to Registered.Today .Wang gained more than 90,000 new domain registrations yesterday.
According to ntldstats.com, the number of .Wang domain registration has grown from 285,000 on October 17th to over 445,000 on October 19th an increase of more than 50%.

Lawsuit filed to redeem stolen X3.com domain name - Domain name was transferred to eName, a popular home for stolen domain names.
The person who registered X3.com in 1995 has filed a lawsuit to recover the domain name, which he says was stolen from his DreamHost account.
Anthony Alfieri-Crispin alleges (pdf) that the defendant managed to steal the domain name from his account and quickly transfer it to…where else…eName.

Domain registrars should supplement confidence check for transfers to eName - Registrar has become a haven for stolen domain names.
Over the weekend I received an email from the (former) owner of ShadesDaddy.com, an online sunglasses seller. He said his domain name had been stolen.
I didn’t have to read on to make a prediction: the domain name was transferred to domain name registrar eName.
Indeed, it was.
