German Discount Clothing Company Spends 178,500 Euros to Upgrade to KiK.de -
German discount clothing company KiK Textilien which operates at Kik-Textilien.de and .com has stepped up the quality of their domain name and purchased Kik.de for 178,500 Euros ($246,223)
The domain did belong to another German company KiK Computerausbildung Vertrieb GmbH that company is now currently operating at Kik.eu.

DENIC doesn’t see most hazard from new TLDs -
DENIC downplays threat of new TLDs against .de, citing latest eco survey.
eco – the Association of the German Internet Industry released its third Registrar Atlas this week. The Registrar Atlas is a survey of businesses that offer domain names. The non-scientific survey targets mostly Germany, but includes respondents from eight countries primarily in Europe.

Interesting: Regional relapse of .de domain registrations -
.De data is a good PR and marketing tool.
I must admit that I don’t follow the .de domain market much. I should, since Germany’s ccTLD is the largest country code domain name in existence with over 15 million domain registrations.
There are a lot of reasons for .de’s success, and it’s clear that one of its success factors is marketing.

Sedo .uk auction ends tomorrow -
Auction timing is a mixed bag.
Sedo’s .uk domain name auction featuring 30 .co.uk and .org.uk domain names ends tomorrow.
So far three of the thirty domains have received bids and met their reserves. The top domain is moviedatabase.co.uk at 210 GBP.
I spot checked five domains and they were all owned by Sedo subsidiary DomCollect, so this appears to be a house auction.

China’s .Cn to Quickly Lose Status as Top Country Code Domain Name -
From “anything goes” to “nothing goes”, changes to .Cn registration enforcement will reduce the number of .cn domain names.
China’s domain name strategy has always perplexed me. For a country known for censoring just about everything, I found it odd that the country was essentially giving away .Cn domain names for about 14 cents.
