United Internet holding marketplace share from GoDaddy in new TLDs -
After slow start, company is grabbing share in recent TLD launches.
United Internet, a group of companies that includes 11, Sedo, InterNetX, and United Domains, appears to be taking a good chunk of the new TLDs market share away from GoDaddy.
United spent about $50 million advertising pre-registrations for new top level domain names. Yet GoDaddy was kicking its butt in registrations for the first batches of new TLDs that hit the market.

Donuts adds another 20,000 registrations with subsequent 6 domains -
Donuts next six domains launch and 11 is picking up steam thanks to cut rate pricing.
Another five six of Donuts domain names reverted to “regular” pricing today and they picked up about 20,000 registrations in the first hours, according to updated stats on nTLDStats.com.
The six domain names and their net adds are:

Domain hunt progressing, though still not prepared for new tip turn domain names -
Registrars are slowly improving their search results to show new top level domain name options, but the experience is far from ideal.
Earlier this month I wrote about how domain name search at major registrars wasn’t ready for new top level domain names.
I admitted it was early, as Donuts’ domain names had just come on to the market. It represented the first batch of English-language domains to become available.

New TLDs disappear from GoDaddy home page, and 1&1’s dark sunrise -
GoDaddy demotes new TLDs from the home page, 11 not offering sunrise registrations through its largest brand.
Here are a couple noteworthy items related to new top level domain names.
First, over the weekend I noticed that promotions for new top level domain names are nowhere to be found on GoDaddy’s home page. After promoting them for the past month or two, it’s been kicked off the home page. (It is front and center, however, on the “Domains” tab.)

1&1 starts pre-registration, and new TLDs are removing most some-more confusing -
Top ten domain registrar 11 is now accepting pre-registrations on a first come basis, and the various pre-registration offerings are rather confusing.
Last week I wrote about how GoDaddy was beginning to accept paid pre-registrations for a handful of top level domain names that will be coming soon.
Other registrars are also offering some version of paid offering now, and more will begin to do so as the domains are actually delegated.
