Report: TruckDrivingJobs.com Sold For $800,000 - According to a Press Release just out, Trucking Unlimited, an online recruiting firm for the trucking industry, announced the acquired TruckDrivingJobs.com, a specialty online website focusing exclusively on truck driving jobs for $800,000.
Truckdrivingjobs.com is as of today an active website but as recently as December of last year the domain name was parked, according to Screenshots.com and had the same owner so I’m not sure what to make of it

PRIMER NIVEL S.A of Panama and Merchant Law Group LLP also had applications in on .News.
In my opinion .News is a top 10 new gTLD extension as it goes with almost every word sort of like a .Club
As always we don’t know what the string sold for.

Another No Trademark UDRP Thrown Out, Without Reverse Domain Name Hijacking - Another UDRP panel has thrown out a complainant against a company which recently registered a trademark matching a domain registered 7 years earlier without even considering a finding of Reverse Domain Name Hijacking.
Never mind that the Complainant was Aponix Solutions LLC of New York, which was represented by in-house counsel Rajkumar Bakhru, could have just bought the domain name which was listed on Sedo with a Buy it now price of $6,000.

Donuts Wins .School Beating Minds + Machines, Fegistry & Uniregistry - Donuts has won the new gTLD string .School beating out Minds + Machines, Jay Westerdal’s Fegistry and Frank Schilling’s Uniregistry.
The new gTLD .School was scheduled to go to ICANN Last Resort Auction later this month.
.School is an interesting one because there is a lot of vertical competition in the new gTLD space.
Donuts already launched .education which has over 13,000 domain name registrations and .university which has over 2,200 domain name registrations.

We reported eailer today that Donuts won the new gTLD .Football as well.
The ICANN last resort auction for .Golf was scheduled to take place later this month.
No details about how the string was settled or how much was paid is available.

1st Day New gTLD Totals: .Paris 6,848 .Moscow 3,404; .Gal 1,140 - Three new gTLD’s had their first day of general availability yesterday, where domain names could be registered on a first come, first served basis.
.Paris which only made 10,000 domain names available for registration wound up with 6,848 registrations, including those registration in Sunrise.
.Moscow ended its first day of general availability with 3,404 domain names including those issued in Sunrise.
Finally .Gal ended its first day of general availability with 1,140.

Australia Denies Apple’s Bid To Trademark “App Store” In Australia -
Jenni Ryall reported for Mashable that Australia has said no go to Apple trademarking the term “App Store” in Australia. This latest ruling was an appeal of their 2013 trademark attempt. The judge did not see app store as distinguishing itself to be Apple centric.

As of June 30, 2014 there are now over 280 Million domain names across all top-level domains (TLDs), an increase of four million domain names, or 1.4% over the first quarter of 2014.
Registrations have grown by 18.6 million, or 7.2 percent, year over year.

Can Verisign Maintain Its Leadership Moving Forward ? - Trefis is a financial analysis site, they describe themselves as an interactive financial community structured around trends, forecasts and insights related to some of the most popular stocks in the US. They wrote about Verisign yesterday and whether or not they can maintain their growth.
They note that .com has built such a niche that it has been able to stand the test of competition, in their estimation .net is not and they believe the new gtld program has affected .net in a negative way.

.Auction Sunrise Winds Up With Over 220 Registrations & Over 1/4 Are From Major League Baseball - .Auction which goes into general availability next Wednesday December 10th, Sunrise period just ended for trademark holders and wound up with 228 Sunrise registrations.
Major League Baseball, including many of its member teams applied for a over 1/4 of all .Auction domain names.

Are Ad Agencies and Marketing Professionals Proficient in a Domain Game ? - Dima Beitzke the chief sales officer at Sedo wrote a piece for iMediaconnection.com that asked if ad agencies and marketing professionals are equipped to play the domain game ?
The article did not get much engagement with only 4 twitter shares and 2 fb likes, there were no comments. It would have been nice to see some interaction between those out there putting campaigns together, with someone who is the chief sales office for a top domain aftermarket site.

.Co.Com Namejet City Auction Closes With Over $22K In Sales Led By NYC.co.com For $4,245 - The .co.com city domain name auctions closed on Namejet.com late week and the total sales were $22,419.
The domain name that sold for the highest amount was not surprisingly nyc.co.com which sold for 4,245.00
Newyorkcity.co.com sold for $1,109

According to Estibot.com its the highest reported sale of a .Mobi domain in almost 5 years.
The domain name Ola.mobi was purchased by Olamobile Cyprus Limited whose website is at olamobile.com.
The last reported .mobi domain name to sell for more than Ola.Mobi, was P*ssy.mobi which sold for $23,619 back on 2010-01-28.

Frank Schilling Wins UDRP On TableForTwo.com; Complainant Didn’t Like The 89K Price - Frank Schilling’s Name Administration won a UDRP on the domain name TableforTwo.com who was defended as usual by John Berryhill.
The complaint was brought by Julie Wampler of Washington, D.C. back on September 15th who runs a blog at TableForTwoBlog.com and got a trademark on the term TABLE FOR TWO on March 13, 2013.

Invest.com Sells For Over $5 Million Dollars - According to the forexmagnates.com, the domain name Invest.com has been sold for more than $5 Million dollars to the VC firm Singulariteam headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel and will be used for a Forex trading site.

How many new gtlds have we purebred in 2014 ? Nov check formula in - Our November poll question was, How Many New gTLDs Have you registered in 2014 ?
We had 200 votes exactly and the most popular answer was zero. 78 out of the 200 responses stated they have registered no new gtlds in 2014. Of course this is not a huge sample size but it was still a bit higher than expected. 1-9 was the next most popular result with 54 people responding that they own 1 to 9 new gtlds.
