Amazon Scoops Up the ‘.Buy’ Domain for $4.6 Million -
Looking to branch out beyond ".com," Amazon is the new proud owner of the ".buy" generic top-level domain (gTLD) after paying nearly $4.6 million at auction.
The online retail giant reportedly beat out Google and two other companies in the auction, where the ".tech" and ".vip." domains were also sold for millions. The auction was run by ICANN, the nonprofit organization that oversees Internet domain names.

Amazon Beats Google, Pays $4.6 Million For .Buy Top-Level Domain -
Amazon beat Google in an ICANN auction on Wednesday, and won the rights to operate the .buy top-level domain with a bid of $4,588,888.
ICANN reports that there were four bidders for .buy — Amazon, Google (via its Charleston Road Registry subsidiary), Dot Buy and Bitter Sunset. Only Amazon and Google bid more than $1.5 million to operate the new gTLD.

Back on August 17th we wrote about a scam email going around that was impersonating Go Daddy, there looks to be a new one out that says your account is on hold. Another phishing attempt.
