Yoweri Museveni domain name put to good use - The ads on Museveni.com are rather ironic. “Frank, I’m not amused,” – Yoweri MuseveniUganda’s president Yoweri Museven signed into law a harsh anti-gay law earlier this year. Museveni might be disappointed to see what comes up when you type the domain name Museveni.com in a web browser. The parked domain name is owned by Frank Schilling’s Name Administration and is parked on his Domain Name Sales platform. The parked page includes ads for “Gay Rights”, ... read more ...

10 important sales from NameJet final month - Here are ten of the more notable sales that took place on NameJet in June. Every month NameJet sells dozens of domains above the $2,000 mark.  Andrew Allemann took a look at April, and I followed his lead with May.  Here I’ll be thinking aloud about 10 of the 69 finalized domain sales that NameJet reported for the month of June. XCW.com $30,100 – Obviously, I should mention the gold medalist.  Yet, although this LLL.com stands in the top position on NameJet’s ... read more ...

Where Are the Registrars With New gTLDs on the Mobile Web? - As mobile usage of the Internet continues to increase (cf. Mobile apps overtake PC Internet usage in U.S.), I'm anticipating that new gTLDs will provide a better link (pun intended) from an ad to the web, from the offline to the online, when people see a meaningful domain name that they can remember to lookup on the go via their smartphone's mobile web. The mobile web is great for that instant real-time response to an ad's call to action. The mobile web is also great for immediate response ... read more ...

From A UDRP to a $238,000 Sale, Mobile.Co Has Apparently Sold - Mike wrote yesterday about the owner of Mobile.pro losing its UDRP attempt for the domain Mobile.co. Mobile.co was purchased back in 2010 for $15,000 and today the buyer of that domain has supposedly sold the domain for $238,000. Chadi Ghaith posted the sale on his Facebook page. It will be interesting to see if the Mobile.pro owner was the buyer of the domain. The previous dealing for the domain was rather odd as mentioned in the UDRP: Complainant negotiated with Ghaith for purchase of the disputed ... read more ...
