ICANN begint met activeren nieuwe gTLD’s - ICANN, beheerder van topleveldomeinnamen (TLD’s), heeft de eerste vier van ruim 1.400 nieuwe gTLD’s geactiveerd in de zogeheten Root Zone van het internet. Dat is de basisdatabase van het DNS- (domein naam systeem). Het gaat om vier gTLD’s met niet-Latijnse tekens. Verisign’s .Com continues to grow, though faces headwinds - .Com/.net base up about 5% compared to last year, but new TLDs are on the horizon. Verisign reported earnings today as well as combined statistics for its .com and .net business.
