One Robocaller badmouthing another… - Pot calling kettle black.
The robocalls to my cell phone continue, and occasionally I play along.
This morning I received a robocall from my “local Google specialist” informing me it had a first page location available for me. I wondered if it was Local Lighthouse, the company being sued by Google for misleading customers.

SEO’s contend lapsed domains are being targeted by Google -
Some people think Google is using expired domain info to track down so-called “Private Blog Networks”.
About ten years ago I made a mint from expired domains. These weren’t good expired domains. They were just domains that had been used before, had lots of incoming links and nice Google juice.

Go Daddy gets obvious for SEO and hunt engine submission -
Patent covers method and systems for SEO suggestions and search engine submission.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued a patent (pdf) to Go Daddy for “method for improving a web site’s ranking with search engines”.
U.S. patent number 8,271,488 describes a system for helping web site owners edit their web pages for better search results and then automatically submitting the sites to multiple search engines.

Man buys .net domain name for $62,500 with big plans.
Some people like to talk big. Patrick Gavin is putting his money where his mouth is.
The founder of Text-Link-Ads.com just plunked down $62,500 for SearchEngineOptimization.net at BuyDomains. It’s a steep price for a domain who’s .org version sold for just $750 back in 2006. But Gavin has a plan, and he’s going to let the world watch him succeed or fail.
