Domain Madness Postponed Until Next Week -
Online bidding fails and auction is postponed until next week.
Running domain name auctions is hard. Promoting an auction and handling the technical back end is even harder.
Just ask Rick Latona.
Today Domain Madness was supposed to hold its third annual auction on the new Boxcar platform. Unfortunately the platform wilted under the pressure. I logged in an hour after the auction was supposed to start, only to see organizers call it quits.

On Namejet.com I saw an auction for this domain end on March 13th, at around $12K with NameJet Reserve as the high bidder, meaning that the domain did not reach the undisclosed NameJet reserve.
Other .Org domains found buyers on Sedo.com
The domain Amira.org sold yesterday for $20K and the domain Rally.Org sold for 10,000 Euros which is about $14K.

Court to Auction John Zuccarini Domain Names Apr 8 -
@Josh
Mr. Zuccarini accepted a plea deal in that criminal prosecution, which is not related to the civil judgment in the Office Depot case resulting in this auction. Mr. Zuccarini served his time for that conviction. There are specific laws about guns, so “argument by analogy” when it comes to ongoing restrictions is not the point in relation to these domain names. You can be convicted of hitting someone with a hammer, serve your time, and you are not forever barred from owning ... read more ...

Startup with big funding bought Color.com for $350,000 in December.
In December I wrote about a GoDaddy-brokered sale of Color.com for $350,000.

Afternic Sells Over $700K In Domains Led By Telomere.org For $25K, AN LLL.ORG & A LLLL.com - Afternic.com just released its reportable sales for the week ending March 13th, 2011.
In all Afternic.com rang up over $700,000 in domain name sales.

Despite War & Internet Cutoff, Someone Steps Out & Spends $14K On 3.ly - Despite a war raging in Libya, home to the .LY domain extension (ccTLD) and a very uncertain future as to the Government of the country, someone has stepped up and paid 10,000 euro’s approximately $14,000 for the domain name 3.ly.
