AYI.com sole for (what was) $100,000 in stock -
Snap Interactive bought the domain name in January in an all-stock transaction.
Snap Interactive Inc., which owns dating social network Are You Interested, acquired the domain name AYI.com in January for 100,000 shares of common stock.
At the time, the 100,000 shares of Snap Interactive (OBB:STVI) had a fair value of $100,000.

Just a couple weeks after buying the domain, the Phoenix Suns’ Beat.la website has received a lot of traffic.
Is Beat.la the most trafficked .la domain name that takes advantage of the “Los Angeles” meaning?
On July 31 I noticed that the Phoenix Suns basketball team bought the beat.la domain name for $5,300 at Sedo. The team is using it promote a rivalry with the L.A. Lakers.

Afternic.com Sells $1.1 Million In Domains Led By Xylem.com For $47K and BXE.com For $40K - Afternic.com just published its domain sales for the week of 8/5/13 – 8/11/13.
Total domain sales for the week, including confidential sales and sales under $1000, summed to $1,106,700.
All sales were led by Xylem.com which sold for $47,100 and BXE.com which sold for $40,000

Sedo’s 2Q Domain Report: 9,589 Transactions; 53% of Sales $500 Or Under; 95% $5k Or Under - Sedo, issued its domain market study for the second quarter of 2013 today.
Sedo reported that domain name sales below $500, accounted for 53% of sales.
Domains priced between $501 and $2,500 accounted for 35% of sales and only 7% were in the $2,501-$5,000 price range.
So basically 95% of all sales where $5,000 or under.
During the quarter, Sedo powered 9,589 transactions with a mean average price of $1,830 across all sales and a median price of $551 and a total sales volume of $17.5 Million dollars.

Sedo’s Q2 marketplace investigate and where a tip 10 sole domains are now -
Sedo releases market data from second quarter plus a few new end user sales revealed.
Sedo released its second quarter market study today in a new infographic format.
The data show that sales volume and dollar volume were down slightly from the first quarter. The company sold 9,589 domains in the quarter. Total sales for Q2 were $17.5 million, down from $17.9 million in Q1. April was the strongest month with $6.8 million in sales.

BulletproofVest.com Acquired By End user For $7,500 - PriveCo Inc. a company that makes Bullet Proof Vest a product called Bullsafe announced today that they have acquired the domain name BulletproofVest.com “for $7,500 from a domain name investor”.
What a bargain.

Domain name companies release sales information.
GoDaddy Auctions sold 38,601 in July, according to the company’s Go Daddy Auctions Domain Market Report.
The top sale, which I’ve written about previously, was body.com for $380,000.

Veterinarians.com Sold as Felix Upgrades Its Domain LocalVets.com - It appears the domain name Veterinarians.com has been sold to Felix, a leading local advertising company, which announced today that is has launched Veterinarians.com as “the directory of choice for connecting consumers with veterinary hospitals to schedule an appointment”.
Felix previously used the domain LocalVets.com, as the domain for the directory which “drives over 6,000 phone calls a day from consumers looking to schedule an appointment for their pet.”

Sedo Transactions Total $1.23 Million Led By DJI.com For $300,000 - Sedo just issued its weekly report and in all 681 transactions took place on Sedo’s marketplace and via SedoMLS, totaling $1.23 Million
Over 52% of total sales were the result of Buy Now listings.
This amounts to $40.2m in year-to-date sales revenue.
All sales were led by dji.com which sold for $300,000 and was brokered by Dave Evanson
The buyer appears to be DJI TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD out of China
The 2nd highest sale of the week went to RealGaming.com which sold for $20,000

Sedo Transactions Total $1.12M Led By VideoShop.com For $35K - Sedo just reported that 765 transactions took place on Sedo’s marketplace and via SedoMLS, last week totaling $1.12m.
This amounts to $39m in year-to-date sales revenue.
Over 48% of total sales were the result of Buy Now listings.

Sedo adds three ccTLDs to distribution network.
SedoMLS, the domain listing distribution system for Sedo, has signed up new registries that will enable it to sell more types of domain names.

How can you calculate the value of a first name .com?
DNMedia published a quick look at the value of first name domain names over the weekend.
I own one such domain (Cathleen.com), so I found the data interesting.
DNMedia took 5,000 common first names and found sales records for 103 of them, ranging from $500 up.
It calculated that the typical first name domain name sells for about $.80 to $1.25 times the number of people who have that name in the United States.

RSS.COM Sold For $135,000 - Ron Sheridan just informed TheDomains.com that he has sold the domain name RSS.com for $135,000.
Ron acquired the domain from Sedo.com in 2009 for $125,000.
The lead for the sale came through DomainNameSales.com although Ron negotiated the deal privately.
Mr Sheridan believes the buyer is an end user who plans on launching a site on RSS.com
The domain has an Estibot Appraised value of $169,000.
