Marchex Sells Its Domain Portfolio Of 200K+ Domains To Godaddy For $28.1 Million - Marchex, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHX), today announced they have entered into a definitive agreement to sell its remaining domain portfolio of more than 200,000 domains to GoDaddy Inc.(NYSE: GDDY).
Under the agreement, Marchex received cash consideration of $28.1 million from Godaddy, plus additional earn-out payments the terms of which were undisclosed including the maximum additional earn out.

Sedo Sales Total $1.2 million led by Houtian.com during $59,000 - Over the past week, 568 transactions took place on Sedo’s marketplace and via SedoMLS, totaling $1.2m. 54% of total sales were the result of Buy Now listings.

20 End User Domain Name Sales - Here are 20 end user domain name sales that took place over the past week.
Sedo handled 593 domain name transactions last week for a total of $1.2 million in sales. End user buyers include a webhosting company that created a shorter domain with .ch, an air conditioning company in Arizona, and a bail bond seller.
A whopping 57% of domains that sold at Sedo last week had “buy now” prices.

Flippa Weekly Sales Led by FZV.com - Flippa released their sales leaderboard for the week on their blog today. FZV.com at $15,000 led the way and that was followed by another 3L.com, NVL.com sold for $12,600. Both of these sales were negotiated post auction.
Flippa continues to be the place for .io domains. Analytics.io sold for $10,000 and Movie.io sold for $6,500. There was also some nice .net sales there this week led by Keyboards.net at $6,800.

DomainNameSales increases sales commissions - Rate increased to 15%, in line with competitors.
DomainNameSales.com is increasing the fee it charges for brokering a sale from 12.5% to 15.0%. The commission applies to existing negotiations for which a deal hasn’t been reached.
In justifying the price increase, DNS VP of Sales Jeff Gabriel wrote:

16 finish user domain name sales adult to $109,000 - End users buy domain names for up to $109,000.
Domain name marketplace Sedo had a banner week, closing 543 transactions for a larger-than-normal $1.8 million tally.
The sales were led by Mercari.com, bought by the maker of the Mercari app. Mercari has been downloaded over a million times. A number of other five figure sales are currently still in escrow or have private whois records.

Namejet Reports Over 640K in Domain Name Sales In Mar Led By vvv.com for $136K - Namejet.com reported its domain name sales that closed in March for those domains selling ofr $2,000 or more.
All sales were led by the rare three letter .com repeater vvv.com which sold for $136,400.
Total reported sales came to $641,557.00
The highest 7 sales of the month were all three letter .com domains as were 9 of the 1st 12 highest sales.
Only three 4 numbered .com’s broke up the clean sweep of three letter .com’s in the top 12 sales of NameJet.com

Sedo augmenting smallest offers and commissions - Low-ball offers now must be a bit higher.
Domain name marketplace Sedo is increasing the minimum offer people have to make on a domain name as well as the minimum commission sellers pay.
Effective April 9, the minimum offer for most domains will increase from $60 to $90 (or EUR) or 75 GBP. Sellers will pay at least a $60 commission on all sales.

Google Inc. Acquires YT.com Domain Name - Google Inc. has acquired the 2 letter .com domain name YT.com. The domain came out of Privacy Protection at Dynadot on 3/30/2015 and transferred into MarkMonitor revealing Google as the buyers.
Based on what I can tell and whois history records, the transaction likely took place on 1/29/2015 when the domains registrant data changed from Cyber Trading Co. at Tucows and transferred to Dynadot under privacy.

Buzz.com Domain Acquired by Domo Inc. From YP.com - YP.com (Yellowpages.com LLC) has sold the premium generic domain name Buzz.com to Domo Inc. (Domo.com) according to whois records!
YellowPages.com had a website on the Buzz.com domain name up until the early morning hours today, until Buzz.com started showing a mirrored site of Domo.com with the Buzz.com domain name.

Two top level domain name contention sets were settled in auctions yesterday.
Golf company Ping (Karsten) won .Ping for $1,501,000. It was in contention with Radix. Thus, .Ping will become a .brand instead of a generic domain name.

Heritage Auctions usurpation submissions for summer domain name auction - Auction house will hold another exclusive auction this summer.
Heritage Auctions is planning another live domain name auction for early this summer.
The format will be similar to one it held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York in February. It will be limited to about 30 high value domain names, primarily .com. It will take place in June in either Dallas (where Heritage Auctions is based) or New York.
