.XYZ Is Back Over 900,000 Registrations & Netsol Regs Once As High as 85% Are Under 15% - The new gTLD is back over the 900,000 domain mark in the zone file. The first time the .XYZ new gTLD crossed the 900,000 domain registration mark was in May of 2015.  At that time the percentage  .XYZ domain names registered at NetworkSolutons.com was over 41% The extension which had as many as over 1.13 million registrations according to https://ntldstats.com/tld/xyz, fell below 800K registrations as the “free” .XYZ domain names given to Network Solutions customers expired and started going ... read more ...

FTC Rules Network Solutions Misled Consumers on 30 Day Money Back Guarantee - Network Solutions got slapped by the FTC for not providing clear terms with their 30 day money back guarantee. Network Solutions did not make it clear that they hold up to 30% of the refund. There was no fine by the FTC but there will be penalties should they violate the terms set forth by the FTC. Hillary Clinton Used Her Own Domain to Conduct Communications - The Washington Post and New York Times covered a story on former First Lady Hillary Clinton and the domain name ClintonEmail.com. It seems that on the day of her Senate hearings she registered the domain name ClintonEmail.com. This is important because only official government email accounts have their content retained under the Federal Records Act. Network Solutions Promotion For .Events; 2 of 3 Featured Domains Are Reserved and NA - NetworkSolutions.com has done it again. A new promotion going out to all of their customers is marketing the new gTLD  .events. The promotion features three domains, two of which are reserved by the registry thereby not available. We have written about this issue before.   If registrars are going to email their customers to get them to register, or pre-register a new gTLD domain by highlighting  three domain names they should at least make sure the domains are actually available to be registered ... read more ...

Network Solutions Has No Idea What we am articulate about – UPDATED WITH PROOF OF EMAIL - So there was a lot of talk about Network Solutions and .XYZ yesterday. We had a comment in one thread which led to Michael doing a follow up post and mentioning that specific comment. The comment was : “I recently got the email from Netsol offering me a complementary .xyz for my so-so .com free for 1 year. and in order to decline such an offer I had to visit a link and click decline, otherwise the domain would be mine automatically.” So I called Web.com who owns Network Solutions and Register.com. ... read more ...

Did NetworkSolutions.com Give Away Free .XYZ Domain Names? -         I published a post earlier today about .XYZ registering over 18,000 domain names in its first day of General Availability based on  ntldstats.com, which is what we rely on consistently for our registration numbers. At the time we did point out that over 50% of all registrations were made at NetworkSolutions.com which was quite unusual, since that registrar has only 8% of the new gTLD market overall, including the 9K+ .XYZ registrations. .XYZ section record nears 15,000, 30k after 24 hours - Nearly 15,000 domains in zone file and over half of them are at NetworkSolutions. 30,000+ domains registered after 24 hours. The latest batch of zone files has been published, and .xyz had what looks to be a good first day. The zone file includes nearly 15,000 domain names after the initial hours of launch.
