Marchex domain sales dump in Q4, $6.3 million for a year -
A look at Archeo’s revenue numbers.
Marchex just reported earnings for Q4 2012 and the full year.
It sold just $863,000 worth of domain names last quarter, which gave it $6.3 million in domain sales for the year.
Had it already been spun out, its Archeo domain name and directory business would have generated $5.5 million in revenue last quarter without domain sales, which was about the same as the prior quarter.

Marchex sells record $3.3 million in domains on Q2 -
Not much else to smile about in its quarterly report.
Marchex just released earnings for its second quarter.
Most notable to the domain name industry is that the company had a record quarter for domain name sales — $3.3 million.
There’s no additional insight into the sales in the company press release, but perhaps we’ll get more from its conference call.

Tucows and Marchex See Shares Bounce on Earnings -
Market happy with results at two domain name companies.
Two publicly traded domain name companies have seen a nice bounce in their stock prices after reporting earnings.
Tucows reported net income of 3 cents per share for the fourth quarter of 2009 on February 16 after the market closed. It also reported $2.88 million of cashflow from operations. Yahoo-Microsoft Deal Could Cost Marchex $8M Revenue -

Revenue in free-fall, but company still generating cash.
Domain name and local search company Marchex (NASDAQ: MCHX) today reported a 44% drop in revenues for Q2 2009 compared to the same quarter last year, but the company still managed to generate cashflow and carries no debt.

Earnings miss estimates while company sells $1M in non-strategic domain names.
Online advertising company Marchex (NASDAQ: MCHX) missed analysts’ adjusted earnings estimates by 3 cents per share, earning only 2 cents per share in the first quarter of 2009. Analysts had predicted earnings of 5 cents per share. Revenue fell 28% compared to the same quarter last year, coming in at only $26.6 million.

Amended complaint from consumer groups targets call tracking technology.
The Center for Digital Democracy (CDD) and the U.S. Public Interest Research Group (USPIRG) amended a petition to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) today to launch an investigation into mobile advertising and privacy concerns. Marchex Lays Off 10% -
Marchex latest domain company to announce layoffs.
Domain name and local advertising company Marchex (NASDAQ: MCHX) has laid off 10% of its workforce, reports The Pugent Sound Business Journal. About 35 people are losing their jobs, although some of those are contract workers.
Marchex has made a series of acquisitions, so some of the jobs were redundant. But it’s also working to maintain a strong cash position in the 12-month old recession.

The stock market is in a free fall, and domain stocks are no exception.
