Hey Rick Maybe You Should Re-Join The ICA - Rick Schwartz has ferociously been on the attack since getting hit with a UDRP on the domain name Saveme.com. As I’m sure all of you have read by now, Rick registered the domain name Saveme.com in 1996 and now based on a domain name registered in 2010, SaveMe.com.br, owned by Márcio Mello Chaves, and Heitor Chaves filed a UDRP with WIPO to take the .com domain name away. One Thing Is Clear From ICANN: Law Enforcement Is Out in Full Force & Your Registrations Costs Will Go Up - Yesterday I was having a couple of meetings at the restaurant where the ICANN conference is being held with some RightoftheDot.com clients. Red Hot on Reddit.com: “Move Your Domain Away From Godaddy Day” Based Off Of Support Of SOPA - A red hot story on Reddit.com this morning started by one domain holder has already gotten over 1,500 comments. 2 Day House Mark Up Session Ends: SOPA Done For This Year - The House Judiciary Committee Markup of SOPA,  the Stop Online Piracy Act just ended. The House Judiciary Committee halted its contentious markup of the Sat approximately 1:30 pm this afternoon. The hearing started yesterday around 10 am with a one hour reading of the bill and did not stop until 9:30 pm. The ICA Files Its Comment To The .Net Contract, As IP Groups Push For URS To Be Included - The Internet Commerce Association has just filed its comments to ICANN on the renewal of the .Net registry contract with VeriSign. US Wants To Make Loser Pay For All Costs & Domain Transferred Under New Uniform Rapid Suspension (URS): ICA Responds - On last Friday, January 28th the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) submitted a paper  to ICANN’s Governmental Advisory Committee containing its suggestions for what position the GAC should push for at its February 28 – March 1 meeting with ICANN’s Board. Utah House and Senate Pass CADNA Backed Trademark Bill, Why This Is VERY Bad News For Domainers - The “UTAH E-COMMERCE INTEGRITY ACT” which was just introduced in December of 2009, passed the Utah Senate last month, was voted into law by the Utah House today. Why The ICA Objected To The Contract To Run The .XXX Extension In 2007 & Still Does - Back In February 2007 the Internet Commerce Association (the”ICA”) wrote to ICANN objecting to the contract ICANN was considering entering into the ICM Registry to run the .xxx extension. Kentucky Files New Motions In Domain Seizure Case, To Add New Parties & Amend Its Complaint - According to the pokernewsdaily.com, the Commonwealth of Kentucky filed a motion today “to add parties to its case and amend its original complaint.” In September 2008, the Commonwealth seized 141 domains and several hearing and appeals later the battle goes on. “Much Worse Than The URS”, The Comment Period On The Fast Track UDRP Closes Tomorrow Friday Dec 11 - On November 11th the Czech Arbitration Court (CAC) proposed a quick, cheap,  fast track UDRP process.
