Breaking: Afternic.com Acquired By Godaddy - In a email that just went out to customers of Afternic.com, the online domain name marketplace owned by Name Media, Godaddy has acquired Afternic.
According to the email, Name Media which owns Afternic.com, is just selling Afternic.com the marketplace and not BuyDomains.com another company owned by NameMedia which owns and operates reportedly some 1 million domain names.
It will be interesting to see how this will effect some new gTLD registries.

WIth Over 2,500 Votes PC Advisor Poll On New gTLD’s Says 25% Of People Are Planning On Buying 1 - Two weeks ago we told you that PCadvisor.co.uk opened up a poll on the new gTLD program
Today total votes received broke the 2,500 mark and the results are pretty interesting.
With 2,506 votes cast 25% of all voters said they planned to buy a new gTLD domain name although only 3% said they were on any sort of pre-registration list.
42% of the voters said they were not interested.
