Two “Premium Domain” New gTLD Auctions Start; Namejet For .Build; Sedo for … - I see a couple of “premium” domain name auctions are starting this week one at Namejet.com and one at Sedo for the new gTLD extensions .Build and .Bid respectively At Namejet.com they are auctioning off 35 .Build Domains. I have to say I don’t get these. Many of the terms make sense but they are backwards. Many of these domain would be good domains, except that the terms starts with Build, not end with Build so selfconfidence.build doesn’t make that much sense as the proper term using in ... read more ...

gTLD registrations soar, but many brands are falling behind - The number of new gTLD registrations has broken the million mark, with ‘xyz’ supplanting ‘.club’ as the most popular string. While online discussion centres on just how it achieved this feat, an equally interesting question is how much of the demand has come from big brands. At the end of May, World Trademark Review reported that, with heavyweight endorser 50 Cent throwing his weight behind the string, ‘.club’ had shot to the top of the gTLD registrations table. Over the past ... read more ...

Die Auswahl an verfügbaren ... read more ...

GeekWire “Buying A New gTLD The Process Really .Sucks” - Kevin Lisota is not a domain investor, instead he is CEO Co-Founder of findwell, a Seattle real estate startup. Transferring domain names was also relatively easy. However, ... read more ...

All three new gTLD’s are priced at $39.95 at Godaddy and are of course available at a ton of registrars. I would assume that .Webcam will do the best of the three with a heavy adult influence. According to its site, “”Famous Four Media, (FFM) was set up in 2011 by a small group of recognized domain name ... read more ...

Comparing Johnny Football to the New gTLDs - On the drive down to New York City for a daddy / daughter weekend, I listened to Boston sports radio. During one segment, the radio hosts were talking about Johnny Manziel (aka Johnny Football) since the Red Sox recently played in Cleveland, and he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns. Apparently, Johnny Football has been a main topic of discussion for the Cleveland sports writers since being drafted. The Browns and their fans are hoping he becomes a top tier player, but for now, he’s a ... read more ...

.gay And The Quiet War for Gay Internet - This is a story about top level domains or TLDs. The original six are the most popular: .com, .net, .org, .gov, .mil and .edu. And you know, there’s no set number of them — nowhere in any rulebook does it say “we shall only have x amount of top level domains.” You may have started to see a few more: Very, very recently more than 100 new gTLDs have been delegated to the Internet’s Root Zone. Root Zone sounds more exciting than it is, by the by. It’s just the place where all the TLDs ... read more ...
