Cyber Monday Kicks Black Friday’s Ass - Marketing-optimization firm Coremetrics said today sales from Cyber Monday were up, almost 14% from last year.
Other findings for Cyber Monday Coremetrics included:
Consumers spend an average of $180.03 per order this year, compared to $130.24 in 2008, an increase of over 38%.
Consumers bought almost 30% more items per order this year.
Coremetrics said apparel and jewelry retailers enjoyed the “biggest jumps in the average dollar amount consumers spent per online order, up 26.4% and 14.3%, respectively.”

Domain name registrar firms up patents related to whois privacy.
GoDaddy was today awarded U.S. patent 7,627,633 (pdf), a divisional patent for its previously awarded whois proxy patent 7,130,878. This patent for “Proxy email method and system” relates to the email masking portion of its whois privacy service.

ICANN is terminating the accreditation of three domain name registrars for failing to pay their bills.
The three domain name registrars — Hosting365 Inc, OOO “Russian Registrarâ€, and R.B. Data Net LTD — each owe past due accreditation fees.
