Google Upset With Symantec Over False Security Certificates - According to PCMag.com Google is rather peeved at Symantec for issuing fraudulent security certificates for numerous domains, including Google. This started out with just a few bad certs and then Google started looking into it themselves. Google found more bad certs than what Symantec first quoted, a few weeks later Symantec found more on their own after their own audit.

Symantec released obvious for rating domain registrars - Does your registrars’ reputation matter?
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted patent number 9,130,962 (pdf) to Symantec for “Calculating Domain Registrar Reputation by Analysis of Hosted Domains”.
Symantec, which sells the web security product line Norton, suggests that calculating a registrar reputation score helps determine how much scrutiny to give to websites connected to domain names at that registrar.

“Cloud” is not a community, new TLD panelist rules -
Group’s definition of “cloud community” is too broad.
Cloud Industry Forum Limited has lost its community objections against three applications for the .cloud top level domain name.
The objections were filed against the three applicants who planned to keep their .cloud registries closed to registrations: Google, Amazon.com, and Symantec.

Seven applicants to compete for .cloud top level domain include some really big internet giants.
Seven applicants filed requests with ICANN for the .cloud top level domain name — and three of them are heavyweight contenders.
