Verisign loses new TLD conflict opposite .brand applicant M-NET -
Verisign loses another string confusion challenge.
Verisign, the registry for .net domain names, has lost a string confusion objection it brought against M-Net and its application for the top level domain .mnet.
M-Net is a pay-TV channel in South Africa. It applied for .mnet as a closed .brand domain name, and the closed nature weighed heavily in the panelist’s decision.

Donuts wins dual some-more fibre objections, settles another -
Only four string confusion objections have not been decided.
The contentious and highly unpredictable string confusion objection process for new top level domain names is coming to a close.
International Centre for Dispute Resolution posted three more decisions today, leaving just four decisions outstanding.
The three decisions all involved mega-applicant Donuts.

Verisign loses conflict opposite Dish’s .DTV tip turn domain name -
Panelist says .DTV can coexist with .TV.
Verisign has lost a String Confusion Objection against Dish DBS over the string .DTV.
Verisign runs the registry for .TV, and argued that having .TV and .DTV as top level domain names would confuse the average internet user.
Panelist Archibald Findlay turned in a rather lengthy (pdf) 23 page decision detailing both parties’ arguments, ultimately siding with Dish.

Panelist says .ecom may rise to the level of being “deceptive” compared to .com.
Verisign has killed off eCommerce Inc.’s application for the .ecom top level domain name by winning a string similarity objection.
