Two letter domain sells for big bucks, but three letter domain and Tweeter brands fail to sell.
A domain name and intellectual property auction held by Hilco Streambank has concluded with a big two letter domain name sale.
Bidding for DL.com ended at 210,689, which was above the reserve price for the domain name. 7 bids were placed in the auction.

PhoneTracker.com just sold to Spy Phone Labs LLC.
According to Estibot the domain name PhoneTracker.com last sold in 2008 for $5,877
The domain name was previously held at Moniker under privacy.
The domain name GiveSmart.com was just sold to GiveSmart US, Inc. for $40.000
The domain was formerly owned by of Brian Carrozzi of California.

Sedo.com Transactions Total $1.3 Million Led By Frank Schilling’s Sale Of Baristas.com For $45K - Over the past week, 705 transactions took place on Sedo’s marketplace and via SedoMLS, totaling $1,3m.
This amounts to $56m in year-to-date sales revenue.
Over 47% of total sales were the result of Buy Now listings.
All sales were led by Baristas.com which sold for $45,000 through SedoMLS that came through GoDaddy.
The domain was sold by Frank Schilling’s Name Administration.

Technology company dotCloud has renamed itself Docker Inc., in a bit of news tangentially related to the domain name industry.

The domain was offered to me in an email earlier this year for $495,000

SEOP.com Claims Its Sold Bestseos.com For $530,000 - According to a press release out this morning, SEOP.com, a Digital Marketing and SEO agency headquartered in Irvine, CA, says it has sold the domain name bestseos.com to independent research firm topseos.com for the price of $530k.

Site spends nearly six figures to rebrand with better domain name.
The binary options website formerly known as BetOnMarkets.com has purchased the domain name Binary.com and rebranded to the new domain name.
The company’s CEO disclosed to Domain Name Wire that the purchase price was $99,000. The Binary.com domain name was previously owned by a technology company called Binary Systems.

TLDH grows its cash pile thanks to losing two private auctions.
Top Level Domain Holdings will add $4.81 million to its cash reserves as a result of losing private auctions for .website and .lawyer, the company announced today.
$130,000 is from refunds for withdrawing its two applications, bringing the total auction proceeds down to $4.68 million.

Selling domain names via email is OK. Doing the following three things is not.
If you own a handful of domains, you’ve surely received an email from someone offering to sell a domain name that is similar to one in your portfolio.
This isn’t a problem in and of itself. I’ve occasionally done it. Elliot does a great job sending highly targeted emails.

Roy Messer Sells BigBreakfast.com To IAC/InterActiveCorp - Domain investor Roy Messer’s Nett Corp, which sold Vodka.com for $3 million dollars a few years back, just sold the domain name BigBreakfast.Com to a public company.
If your thinking McDonalds or one of the restaurant groups bought the domain you would be wrong.
The domain instead was bought by IAC/InterActiveCorp which owns many of the most popular web properties including Match.com, Ask.com and About.com.

GoDaddy registers over 7,000 .LA domain names since promoting the domain for Los Angeles.
A reader who invested in .la domain names asked me this week if I knew how the domain name was doing since GoDaddy put some of its marketing weight behind the domain.
