Changes in Store for Bido Auction Platform -
I predict three major changes at domain auction house Bido.
A week ago I wrote about the lack of high quality domain names for sale at Bido. Others agreed, and Bido co-founder Sahar Sarid chimed in. While Sarid was somewhat coy about planned changes at Bido, he dropped several hints. After reading his comments on Domain Name Wire and his five posts about accurate domain pricing on his blog, here’s what I think is in store for the site:
1. More than one domain ... read more ...

Bido.com Crashes Again -
Bido crashes during second auction for FixedLoans.com.
Sahar Sarid’s blog posts tell it all. Yesterday his post was titled “Bido is Down, But Not For Long!”. Today’s post: “Bido Auctions No More (For Now)“.
For the second straight day, Bido crashed during the auction for FixedLoans.com. I had reasonable success logging in and watching the auction for the first 50 minutes, but then I just got a blank screen after that.
When I was finally able to access ... read more ...

Bido: FixedLoans.com Auction and New Chat Feature -
Domain sold at previous TRAFFIC auction on the block at Bido, Bido Chat in the works.
Bido’s auction on Wednesday will be for FixedLoans.com. This will be an interesting auction to watch because the domain was sold at a TRAFFIC conference in 2006 for $10,000.
Some may view this auction as a test of Bido’s clout in the domain auction business, but it could really go either way. If it sells for more than $10,000 it could be because fixed loans are getting a ... read more ...

Here’s a look at some interesting domain news around the web.
When a news story falls through the cracks, we don’t call on Lewis Black. We do it ourselves. Here’s a look at some domain stories from around the web…
Entrepreneur Magazine publishes “Imminent Domaining“. The article includes interviews with Howard Hoffman (ppcincome.com) and Ron Jackson (DNJournal). It’s a good article, but I disagree with its assertion that “While the real-world real ... read more ...

New Domain Name Auction Platform Bido Launches -
After long delay, Bido has launched.
Newcomer Bido has entered the domain name auction scene. The platform, launched in part by Sahar Sarid, features only one domain name auction per day, bids start at $1, domain names have no reserve, and Bido guarantees a minimum sales price to sellers.
It’s good for domainers to see more competition in this space, especially from a company that’s trying to throw a couple curve balls into the game. Bido includes social aspects ... read more ...

Latest issue of Modern Domainer features domain blogs.
The July issue of Modern Domainer magazine will be shipping soon, and Domain Name Wire got a sneak peek. The issue tips the scales at well over 100 pages and is Modern Domainer’s biggest issue yet. This issue’s main feature is the “Domainer’s Blog Bible”:

What is Bido.com? We now have part of the answer.
Bido, a new domain company founded by DNJournal editor Ron Jackson, Recall Media founder Sahar Sarid, and a couple other Recall Media employees had its official launch party in Las Vegas last night. After a couple months of suspense, we now know what the guys are up to. Well, sort of.

Domain Name Blogs -
Here’s a list of blogs, mostly covering domains, that I read on a daily basis.
A lot of people ask me what blogs I read. I have a rule of thumb before I invest the time to start reading a blog: it must be in existence for at least 6 months. Many blogs pop up only to be abandoned after a couple months after their owners realize that blogging is a lot of work. I’ve seen many a domain blog follow this path, too.
So here’s a rundown of everything in my Google ... read more ...
